WOW ! What an event!! E15 on parents branch

I loved to see him trying to see everything from above: his brother, the nest. He turned his head 360deg on itself... It was amazing !!

And little one tried to understand this change in the situation: 16 is like the parents!

He is flying very well by now, he will fledge very soon...

19:21 He hovered down, his legs were hanging like they always do on their first flights, its very funny.

He was hovering to the veranda branch and later to the nest.
He had to come down because of the storm

He stayed there till real dark, in a windy weather and big drops of rain. Parents weren't around and didn't see the event.
He is really a courageous eagle!!! never saw before someone going up 1st time, for so long in the dark and such a storm.
Harriett & M15 : you did a great job with this second clutch kids, they are the best

JUNE 11th

Good Morning !

06:12 Our brave kid opened the day with a nice jump-flight to the middle of the veranda's branch; there he exercised a little, jumping, turning around and thinking!!
"Where will I visit today? which corner? which branch??"
His head was making circles, like checking the way to go. What a kid!!
First time that I love the bigi as much as the little one...

They are hungry and also miss parents since yesterday.

JUNE 12th

Cams came back but the 360 has a problem.

During first fish, the kids "didn't agree" and little one went back to 2nd week and put his head deep in the nest floor.

15 winging and showing his great wings on the nest... looking at the branch but knows he cannot go near the branch while Bigi is there.

Abigyl, thanks for your reports!
Moderators wrote that the cams were repeatedly down because of the frequent thunder storms, which Florida experiences at the moment.

They also noted that the small E16 has a little tear in his beak and a portion of keratin (beaks are made of keratin) has been pulled off. Yet this should not be a big problem, as the beaks grow continuously. Also, the cleaning of the beak which eagles do will help to smoothen it out.

20:17 It's almost dark, little 16 must be very tired. He is sleeping (baby style) on the right rails.
Let's hope that he'll get up on the nest side and not on the edge...

01:00 He is OK ! Both are making a party on the center of the nest, sitting & preening.

01:40 Still awake. One is standing on the rails, watching around, is he counting the cars?
There are very few at this time.
After 2am all looked quiet.

Good Morning!

A very strange black fish is on the nest. Looks like another toy from a recycled tire

Doesn't look eatable, both tried but it's still untouched.
