It is natural, I think it is better to accept than avoid seeing. Both eaglets do develop  And both have their own advantages - strength and tolerance :D

I was a middle child and often not so comfortable in my role - but I survied

29.February

Breakfast time, both got fair shares. This first timer pair make a very good job. Samson stocks the pantry very well, Gaby feeds both so gently and fair.

Unbelieveable, Samson brings the next one (fish), these kids are overstuffed. :D
Gaby enjoys him, then she took the fish from him and feeds the babies with that fresh one.

Today some history :innocent:
I watched Samson from birth (from egg to fledge). He and his sister Delilah were from the beginning the friendliest siblings I've ever seen in an eagle nest. Delilah was dominant, but she never showed aggression. They were really best friends.

Gabrielle and Samson proved to be very caring parents. All the time I wonder how they know how to look after hatchlings. Is this just an instinct?
I hope their eaglets will also be good friends.

Thanks, Mamicja! I have missed the fact how did they recognize the current male to be just Samson - do you know?

Info from https://www.nefleaglecam.org/
Samson hatched in the very nest featured in this site on December 23, 2013. This was a happy nest; food was in abundance, and there was very little sibling rivalry between Samson and older sibling, Delilah, who hatched on December 20. Samson and Delilah both successfully fledged the nest, gained strength and honed their hunting skills. We know that Samson left the area on April 22, 2014, at 120 days old.
It was four years later that Samson was seen back at the nest, with positive identification being made by photographic markers and also by his flattened toe, which had been observed while he was still a nestling.

The size difference is big a that time. Hope NE23 can catch up soon.
