Osprey must haven taken off between 06:45 and 06:46, at pontu pic 06:46 no one is on the nest.

What about her breastfeathers - could it be a female? It is wearing no rings.

Unfortunately pontu pics archive is not public accessable at the moment - so please: when you make observations and can make no pic or video - please post the time here and I will try to get pictures through the backdoor

or just a Blackbird. The sound is distorted a bit as they sit near the mic.

I'm so happy with this webcam.
So many sounds to hear, even till late in the evening

Now i'm off for a couple of hours
In fact this is a Mistle thrush (Turdus viscivorus). Bird of this species also landed at the edge of nest. Songs of Blackbird and Mistle thrush are very similiar.

For a short moment an Osprey was on the nest, but took off immediately again. But I think it is still sitting near on the tree or camera support.
Pontu didn´t get the moment.

Until I could put my cup of coffee out of my hand, Osprey was gone again and I could take no pic :faint:

I was wondering the same - especially in the picture from her/his back it looks like she/he has still more white in the plumage than older ospreys

This Osprey is first in Latvia in this year. So it's record holder.

Yes, as far as cams are concerned - we still await Madis/Piret cam ...

It is really nice to experience a "live" osprey, as I already did here, a fresh breath of a new season

I am curious whether we will see it again next days, or whether it was a still migrating one, heading further north.

You are right, too, Bea,
Last year we saw at least one (nice) young osprey trying to make acquaintance with Ilmar and Irma's nest for instance. And we have read of "Finnish" ospreys making stops on Estonian nests during the spring.
The osprey on the new Latvian nest was twice very hasty on the nest as I saw it ...
