21.01 Vita finished her night meal and flew off for a short "walk" and stretch
a big tailpart of the huge fish is left and is laying on the side of the nest

the little one still has this piece hanging on the side of its beak


21.02 Vita back, she cleaned the nestbowl, picked up some crumbs
the chick managed to shake off this piece, Vita grabbed it and fed it to the chick
then Vita settled in to cover eggs and chick


21.30 Teo dropped down to the nest, took the remain fish, said "good night" to family and flew off with

it started slightly but constantly raining, Vita's plumage is covered with raindrops. A few times she shaked the water off and changed position, rolled the eggs and the chick also had to find always a new position. Vita cares for the eggs and the chick to keep them warm and dry.

If at least one day this chick leaves this nest healthy and strong in freedom ... it would be a relative success for Teo, Vita as the first mother and the bird club. After this nest was so badly chased.

Teo brought three beautiful fish with heads today. (Two of them were still wriggling. ) It is even likely that I have not documented the breakfast fish.In between he came to the nest with remnants and offered it. Plenty for the small family. Especially since the weather was not very good for fishing today.

Hi Polly, if i got it right (?) from the Latvian forum there were two fish delivered this morning, 07.25 and 09.00.



14.35 the chick (and Vita) seems to be hungry. Vita got up, chick is asking for food. Vita is calling for the fish.


14.44 Teo comes - with a stick. Vita would prefer a fish.

Teo flies away briefly and comes back with just another, small lichen stick. Vita ceaselessly lets him know that he should go fishing now.
