05:26 Teo arrives with stick, Vita calls for fish
05:34 Teo flies off
06:16 Vita jumps into the nest, loud calling. Vita's feathers look clean again this morning.


06:19 Teo comes, mating. He flies off and Vita back on cam stand

This Lady must be the stranger from 02th July 11:41 ... the same white tip at one of her the tail feathers (to the right side from behind). Teo also has a white tip on one of his tail feathern, but it is to the left side and mostly not visible.

My heart is heavy after the news of the third estonian chick. Now I follow the Loch Arkaig Ospreys and hope that the three rather large osprets will be spared of great owls and goshawks.
Thanks so much for the nice news from Teo and his girls. He seems to be in demand. That comforted a little.

Yes, Teo's repeadedly pooping on Vita before mating is very strange. i also have never seen something like that.
Is it his way to get over the loss of the only chick, a kind of aggression ? i have no idea

For me it's hard to take all these very sad events this season. Well, it's nature, we all know, but it doesn't help much at the moment.
I think i have to take a little break to get a bit distance.

18:11 Vita calls from cam stand for fish and brave Teo delivers again a nice fish. Vita, with full crop, grabs the fish as if she hasn't eaten for days and off it goes

6:58:51 Vita arrived the nest, is calling for Teo. I guess she saw him already with fish.


6:59 And Teo brings a big breakfish to her.


Vita grabs the fish very fast, hungry lady!


Vita left with the fish, some moments later Teo jumped to the cam stand.
It's a rainy and windy day there, no visits so far til now 16:58.

this time Vita's backfeathers stayed clean, Teo did not again poop on her before mating

Teo left and Vita went up to the cam stand, keeps calling for the fish.....

20 min later....

05.20 Vita jumps down to the nest, most likely saw Teo coming

05.21 Teo directly landed on her back and wants to mate



Vita raises her tail and what does he do again ? Teo poops on Vita again

The wings seem a bit short to me, but I'm very, very bad at these things.

Thanks for your reports.
I should quit, then others write more.

I also considered what Teo's behavior might mean. Well, Vita's plumage was already full of feces at the beginning of the season. I mentioned it in one of my posts. It is nothing new. Only that there have been no pairings for a long time. And we only now pay attention to it. Could it be some kind of marking?
