I don't think so, Birdfriend. Most likely they are nesting in the nearby.
I started listening to their calls last year. Unfortunately, this camera launches late in the season so we can't hear the commercial and mating time. Still, every now and then we would hear calls ... the Kikiki in moments when they are defending their nest or territory. Or calls for the partner. Their calls can be heard several hundred meters away. But I never heard a goshawk.
Despite the restless acoustics of this camera - you can hear a hawk call.
And now at this time the hawklets would be heard.
I think this goshawk is hunting outside of his turf. We can't know if it's always the same ... year after year. If so, he remembers. Yes of course.
I don't feel like there are too many goshawks around here. We'd hear ... see them more often. Or?
Unfortunately, this nest is now known and hawklets learn from their parents where to find food. So it doesn't have to be many. If the camera ran over winter, we would know more whether it is a hawk area here.
Everything is useless. There are no blocking tapes. And as tragic as it is - it's good.
I'm tense but not without hope.
