17:27 Vita and the headless splendid specimen leave the nest.

I recorded this delivery on video at 0.5 speed. Even slower is even nicer ... there are many subtleties. :innocent:

Vita stays away longer ... big fish = longer time for Teo in the nest.

He cares about the eggs. turns it, loosens the nest floor well and ventilates it.

19:20:40 Teo leaves the nest. :puzzled:
19:21:26 Vita comes in and will stay for the night now. :innocent:

20:18:18 A loud crack can be heard ... then a crackling / rustling. There must be a bigger animal on the way.
I hope no one ... There have been so many people here over the past year.

20:46 The birds are getting restless. ..Vita also slips back and forth a bit.

However, the day ends peacefully.

Sleep well!

May 1st

Another cold night ...

Image

05:28 Teo flies over the nest and comes back shortly afterwards with a piece of fish.
I think a remnant from yesterday.

Image

Vita will want to leave the nest before she is ready for breakfast. Vita flies out.

Teo's feathers are also covered by the hoop.
It begins to gnaw on the fish, but puts it aside and covers the eggs.

05:33 Vita is back.

Image

She grabs the remains of the fish and leaves the nest again.

The sun is rising ... :innocent:
Image

07:05 Vita lands on the camera.
Teo gets up, leaves the nest and Vita takes over the covering of the eggs

08:14 Vita is taking another nap in the morning sun.

Image

She gets up and I see that she has also incubated a piece of fish. :slap:
Oops ... I missed who brought it back. This food takes many paths ... :rotf:

Image

08:15 Teo jumps off the camera and takes the warmed fish.

Vita leaves the nest.
Their tail feathers look a bit scruffy.

Teo will eat the rest of the fish with its tail. :innocent:

Image

09:18 Teo leaves the nest and Vita takes over a minute later.

09:59 Teo visits Vita in the nest.
They linger quietly in the nest ... Vita stays on the eggs and Teo freshen up his feathers.

Image

Image

10:02 As if they had agreed to meet in silence, they both stand up.
Vita leaves the nest and Teo covers the eggs after rolling them and loosening the bottom.

10:52 Teo is cuddled in the warmth of the sun. :innocent:

He tries to fight back. Over and over again it pulls dry tufts of grass over its beak and builds them around itself.

Image

I know that Osprey's eyes function completely differently than we do.
Still, I couldn't resist trying - to open or close both eyes independently.
10:26:34 A piece of cake for Teo

11:00 In the meantime, Teo has built himself in well ... and Vita's shadow protects him.

05:32 Vita back.
She has grass in both feet.
Image

05:35 My goodness ... Vita is shaking like crazy.

According to my app, today's night temperatures were down to -3 ° C.
For tomorrow a lot of rain is announced again.

06:57 Vita brings grass again.
Image

Somehow she slips into the nest cavity and pushes Teo.
I wouldn't say she is pushing ... :whistling:

Briefly about yesterday:
Unfortunately, I have already disposed of my notes. :slap:
In the evening I didn't have the time to add everything. But I would like to mention the pigeon. The exact timestamp is gone now but I heard a dove. Initially close to the nest, later removed.
Well, I was pleased. :innocent: Like the owl some time ago, I have never heard a pigeon so close.

07:05:08 A bird leaves its parent tree.
I did not see him sitting. He flies away downstairs.

Vita jumps up, leaves the nest.
To me it looks like the same bird is flying after Vita.
Image

07:05:38 Both back in the nest.
Teo is relaxed while Vira still looks excited.
Image

Has Vita been frightened of Teo again?
