Really. :innocent:
When he so carelessly pushed it aside while working on the nest, I had the thought that Teo has finally finished and that he no longer feels any paternal protective instincts. (Hormones?)
It hurt to see me a little. Even if mourning doesn't help.

Well, your report shows otherwise. Thanks for that balistar!

And thanks for your connection! Good to know you are there!

I am also glad that Theo and Vita are fine.
I had to leave the forum after the attack. Today I returned and was happy to see them again.
greetings to all of you. :hi:

10:50 Osprey jumps into the nest ... no rings, Teo :puzzled:

While I'm working with Videos on YT

17:27 Strange calls ... a Hawk :puzzled:

Yes, Goshawk flies in for seconds
17:28

17:35 Teo briefly flies in, looking around and off again. Can see him flying around and lands in a tree far away to the right side ...
Image

Atypical for Teo to leave the nest so quickly ... it may be that he noticed the hawk's visit :puzzled:

:hi: Shanta and everyone,

Shanta, thank you very much for the reports and the videos :2thumbsup:

The "double-decker" is great, Vita made me laugh, as Vita flew ahead under Teo and he hovered over her in the nest

17.28 the Goshawk might have remembered the egg and wanted to see if a chick had hatched :puzzled:

i add a few pictures:

:hi: balistar

Thanks for your pics

Do you think at 9:49 it was a mating on cam stand?

To observe the nest this year, so many things and sounds are new for me. Made a clip of 25th June and it was so sweet to hear the sounds from Vita as Teo comes ...and also he flies off. It was like a turtledove, dove or lovebird :puzzled: sorry don't know the right word in English

The chick wouldn't have had a chance this season.
The hawks were there last year .... I read the thread last year. And then came up with why the nest was found empty in 2018.
A female? The broad chest indicates this.
Let's not forget that she also has to raise chicks. It is incredibly difficult to understand both without tears. I love some ... but others too. You cannot deny existence in a life. It is families who feed their chicks. I wish there were more of these pests of the crows here. There was one around Ivo's nest - but no hawks. Not here = the territory is firmly in the hands of the hawks?

Thanks Shanta and balistar! :innocent:

 that may well be possible

I had the same impression on June 27th at 17.14. Vita was on the cam stand, Teo flew upwards from nest, then the cam stand was wiggling similarly strong, but without those amused giggles from Vita like in your nice video from June 25th. Thanks a lot. That was really cute :D

balistar, Shanta, Polly thanks a lot!

You really mean, that was Vitas voice on 25. June? :puzzled:

1.July

21:36 Vita arrived the nest and is calling, maybe for a late night fishie?!
Image

21:37 But Teo comes too only with an new stick...
Image

Teo positioned the stick, Vita is not amused and still calling.

Beautiful reporting and pictures everybody.

It is some comfort to see the parents still visiting.

So much sadness today on The Marko and Miina nest. TWO chicks taken by Goshawk...and I fear the third is extremely vulnerable.

I do not know what the solution will be, if this is to beacome a regular occurence in so many of our Osprey nests.

Birdfriend  thanks for report and pictures.

It seems Teo is "in the mood" since there is no more chick to care for :whistling:

04:32 Teo arrives, looking around
04:34 Teo jumps on cam
04:35 back into the nest, Vita flies in and calls for fish
04:36 Teo flies on camstand and both are busy ... Teo flies off
04:54 Teo comes with wet grass, Vita calls from cam
Teo works on the nest
04:59 He jumps to Vita on cam stand
06:32 Vita flies in followed by Teo with fish

08:34 Teo arrives with a stick, Vita calls from cam stand ... he rearranged the sticks
08:40 Teo stands at the edge of the nest and looks at the area, he ignores the calls for more fish
08:52 Vita flies off
08:56 Vita is back and starts calling
08:59 Teo jumps on cam stand and Vita is busy in the nest
09:09 Vita gives alarm and flies off
09:10 Vita flies on cam
09:35 Teo brings a piece of bark, Vita still on cam and asks about fish
09:43 Both fly away, for short alarm calls

11:41 An Osprey flies over the nest, Vita arrives, mantling ... strange Osprey lands on the nest. For me it's a stranger, the tailfeathers are different (white tip)
All is very quiet, it's raining
11:43 Vita flies off
11:44 Vita lands in her tree in the background to the right side
11:47 Vita leaves the tree and lands on cam, the stranger finally flies off

Birdfriend :hi:

What do you think it can be? I also recorded the scene in a longer version. Teo came back 6:58 with a stick, Vita was on the cam stand all the time. The sounds can only come from Vita ... never before I heard such sound. I think the microphone is close and that's why it was heard.

Today I have no time to watch the nest more closely, but will 2 videos later

05:51 Fish delivery with green

09:29 Intruder is back ... but the behavior of Teo is not really defending :puzzled: ... maybe a female?

I wonder why Teo now makes his poop on Vita before mating :puzzled: ... it's not the first time
