Many, many thanks for posting this link to the Patuxent nest, Cessie - this is awesome, amazing and heartwarming.

sova, I’m so glad that you liked the story.
Last night, (camera time), around 7:12 pm, the newest chick fell of of the nest, into the water. A little after 9:00pm, the chick was brought back up to the nest. Soaking wet. I hope that this chick doesn’t leave again till it can fly.

Rita, so happy that you enjoyed the story! I had never known of taking Osprey chicks to other nests to finish being raised, so this is new for me. It warms my heart.

Polly it's not about osprey, but black stork and it is as we assumed

....". But the very fact that a Goshawk has to catch storks does not bode well. Storks, however, are not his normal food. But from hunger - the devil eats even flies, the goshawk also catches storks.

July 21st

12:49:44 - 47 calls from an Osprey, landing on the Kamara
12:54 calls

12:55 Osprey with a red ring lands in the nest.
Has grass scraps in its claws? K33 ... no stranger.




He leaves the nest.
Now the Osprey jumps off the camera. He's also wearing a ring ... black A67 (left leg)?


I have to double check.

No grass! It is fish!







K33 brings fish and takes it back with her.

K33 is very persistent with this nest. It's not the first visit here.

13:09 A67 back to the nest.

13:09 A second Osprey flies to the nest.
It all happens very quietly ... with no warning calls.




K33 or Teo?

It seems the Osprey has something in its right talons. (K33?) But that's questionable, just speculation. The picture is not good.

13:10 A67 leaves the nest.


The camera jumps to 13:52. So many minutes are missing.

Correction regarding the ring - K33 was too easy.
It's not K33, apparently.

Since I cannot read the ring with certainty, I correct it to the red ring on the left leg.

Information about the red ring G52

July 23rd

Teo visits his nest ... waiting for Vita?

04:55 Teo jumps from the camera stand into the nest.






He just stands and looks around.

04:58 He jumps back up.
I let it go for a long time, but I didn't notice when it flew away.

July 25th

09:48 Stranger Osprey in the nest. Chirps. A female?
Teo lands too, carrying remains of fish in his claws. The other Osprey is very interested ... Teo is hiding the fish.







After a while, Teo leaves the fish, starts fiddling and leaves the nest.
The other Osprey has a delicate voice, I think.

Both left the nest one after the other at 09:54 but the female immediately returns with the fish.

09:56 Teo presents his skills as a nest builder.

09:58 back out.
10:01 back in with branch.


Meanwhile, the female is gnawing at the fish.

Both are still somewhat side by side with each other.








10:04 Teo leaves the nest.

10:05 Teo back with branch.



He builds - she eats.



10:07 am Teo leaves the nest again.

Teo is very busy today ...

10:09 The female jumps on the camera stand.
10:11 Teo brings a stick and it flutters down into the nest.

Teo is immediately in a submissive position.



10:12 Teo leaves the nest 10:16 ... and back with branch

10:18 She jumps on the camera stand. Teo is already gone.

Back to beautify the nest.





11:11 The female is chirping. It really chirps ...

11:12 She leaves the camera stand ... almost an hour later.

Immediately afterwards another Osprey lands, calls.
