the sky is covered with rather thick clouds. it sounds dripping like it had rained a lot but now it's not raining. there's no wind.

8:41 two great spotted woodpeckers had a small argument, perhaps about whose tree this is.
one of them was a juvenile and the other an adult. the top of the head was black. i couldn't see the back of the head, so i can't say whether the other was a male or a female.
Image

they had a fighting technique which was very similar to that of eagles, only smaller in size scale.
their screaming was less scary. :whistling:

i made a slow-motion close-up clip of the fight. the sound is funny when the speed is 1/5 of normal speed.

the birds have been warning about something in the forest for quite a long time.

11:23:50 someone flew to our tree. a juvenile great spotted woodpecker.
the woodpecker probably only flew by and didn't stay.
Image

11:26 a young great spotted woodpecker visited.

it seems that the new version of the P-player can also record for more than 6 hours without automatically stopping. yeah!
Not quite like that. After 6 hours of recording, the potplayer reopens the address. The result is a skip in the recording, since there is a lag of several minutes in the recording for 6 hours.

hmh? for me the Potplayer stops and re-opens and then continues recording without anything going missing. re-opening takes a few seconds but all is there in the recordings. i have tried it twice now.
if it works differently in different places it is strange. :puzzled:

19:47 a woodpecker flew somewhere near. he/she called...
19:54 the woodpecker flew to a branch on the lower right.
19:57 the woodpecker flew to a branch on the left. more calls...

there was strange engine noise in the middle of the night together with sounds like metal hitting rocks. it sounded like an excavator.
what a strange time to do such work. :slap:
i made a sample of the noise.
