i couldn't see or hear if someone was up on the top dropping them.
edit: i made a slow motion of the second cone dropping.

7:25 a wood pigeon flew by the nest tree and landed on the spruce on the right. he began to sing. another other pigeon sang far in turns with him, like an echo.

the pigeons went on singing... (i didn't include all this in the video.)

7:42 again. and again another verse.
7:46 the pigeon flew away from the spruce to the right.

8:02 a little bird who twitched her wing. a flycatcher? - probably a female because the colours were so dull.
there seemed to be narrow white/light stripes on the wings and perhaps on the sides of the tail, too. this wasn't a chaffinch though.
the stomach was light and the back dark brown.

the bird was on the nest first, then went upstairs and in the end returned to the back edge of the nest.

(we went to the city in the morning and i was recording all the time on the way there and back. during that time we were out of the reach of our normal antenna and my old connection worked well. we bought a new connection from another provider. at once when we got back my old connection was breaking again like crazy. now i have installed the new connection and it's working like a miracle. :headroll:
i should have done this much earlier. the old connection drove me half-crazy. 8-) )

When last was Milda seen? I mean a definite observation rather than someone up top or a female calling nearby.

14:04 it began to rain big noisy droplets. ... it was only a short shower.

handbyl, both were on July 8th. they came at 17:20. Mr L was on the nest but Milda landed on the top. she flew away at 18:22. i suppose that this was, however, not what you wanted because Milda was not properly seen on the nest.
https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 55#p813855

on June 25th they made a similar visit at 7:39. Milda wasn't really seen so this visit doesn't "qualify" as a proper visit either.
https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 75#p810775

on June 15th both visited the nest.
they came at 13:02 and Milda flew away at 14:34. Mr L flew away at 14:42.

i didn't realise that Milda has been out of our sight so long. i believe that she has been with Mr L several times though. for some reason she is lazy to come in.

Thanks. I wondered if perhaps another female was involved and that is why I asked. Seems odd for Milda not to drop down. But then why would another female not also drop down at least for a while if up top?

15:48:50 a cone dropped in a gust of hard wind. it's stormy!
15:49:30 another cone dropped.

handbyl, i believe that Milda is still around with Mr L. it's more likely than that she'd give up her territory. we'll meet her again later in the autumn. now she has no real reason to come to the nest.
