this youngster looked younger than the two yesterday. or i don't know about the age: the beak was rather blonde already. any way i think it none of the two: it had much more black in its tail.

12:26 cam off.
i'm processing videos of the eagle. it takes a little time....
here's the video. the light was so bad that i'm not quite sure of the colours of the eagle before i can see the pictures which i took from it. the light was so difficult then and the legs were either in shadow or inside snow or under eagle's pants almost all the time.
all i can say is that it was a Latvian eagle with a black year ring on the left leg (2 rings).

a minute later stream back. it was the stream which cut off again.

12:32 a brief stop-over by another eagle. this was much more blond than the earlier (at least it looked more blond but not so much in this picture.)
Image

two rings, Latvian i think.
Image

very much dark in the tail, more than the yesterday's eagles had.

Marfo, laranjeiras, did you hear anyone leaving the tree after the stick dropped? did someone drop it from upstairs or did it drop by itself. my sound seems to be unsynchronized again... but i think i haven't heard anyone leaving.
maybe it was one an the same eagle all the time after all... :puzzled:

12:49:50 (about) an eagle flew away. i couldn't see it but the tree was swinging. so there were two eagles.

12:57 again! this one has 0 on the top row of the ring and maybe 5 below it.
a Latvian blue&black ring on the right leg.

i think i hear some squeaking from outside of the nest..

the eagle on the nest lay down and picked up the stick. it's playing 'home'. this must be a young couple. eagle-puppy love. 8-)
it must be the same two who were hanging around yesterday. they spent time together like these two. (- or otherwise there are two young couples around which is rather unlikely...)

i found two Pontu pictures of the eagles today where the rings are somewhat visible.
this is the first at 12:01. if i stretch my imagination i think i can almost see 0 on the top row and something like maybe 3 or 5 below it.
Image

this is the latter eagle at 12:57, almost an hour later. the sun shines from different direction so i can't say about the colour difference if it is real or not, but this eagle looks more blond than the earlier above.
the ring reading doesn't require so much imagination. there 0 on top and under it a ratehr clear 5. the other marking should be K on top row ans the missing number c o u l d be 5. so K055 maybe. :puzzled:
but are these two one and the same bird?
Image

13:36 raven come for a check flight. actually i think there were two ravens.
so eagles have left i guess.

13.35 lots of fly-by action - i think the eaglet (but could be a raven?)

i watched again the video of the first eagle visit. i can't even find a decent picture which would show that it was Latvian. there are few passages where one can see that it had a country ring, i.e. a ring on the right leg, too. :slap:
the ring was dark but i can't see the blue colour for sure. :faint:
Image

here's one portrait where the side and wing can be seen. i have marked here the 'elbow area' on the wing. it has dense nearly vertical stripes. the pattern looks very similar to the wing of the latter eagle.
Image

based on this "evidence" (similar feather pattern on the wing and possible number 0 on the ring) i'd say that the eagle on the nest was the same on both visits and the other eagle was somewhere near entertaining the one on the nest.
further speculation: the one on the nest was the girl and the boy was outside for example showing flying tricks (on the first visit the eagle looked up in the sky) or singing to his gal.

i now had time to check pictures from yesterday and the day before yesterday. today's eagle(s) were definitely not the same individuals whom we saw kick-boxing here yesterday. they both had much less black in their tails. the eagle on the left is K014 whom we saw also two days ago.
Image

this is the tail of the eagle on the first visit.
Image

and this is the tail on the second departure today.
but do these tails belong to the one and same bird? :puzzled:
Image

so we have two young couples playing home here. 8-)
maybe...
