it seems that now they have finished work for this session, so now the first set of videos.
10:38 Raimis came with a bunch of hay. he worked a little on the nest and then went to the left branch.

he soon got company. a hazel grouse felt spring in his breast and sang nearby. he has a very high-pitch voice: peee-peee - pepeppeeee.... the hazel grouse was singing cheerfully.
also a raven was greeting Raimis.

10:44 a magpie came to visit Raimis. he talked and sang to Raimis for a long time. then he also showed himself and flew away.

10:46 Raimis came back down to the nest and also the magpie returned. he continued talking to Raimis. Raimis didn't look very pleased... :whistling:

10:47 Milda flew to the nest. she came in from the direction of the Sun and it was difficult to see, but i think that she came empty-handed.
they worked together.. the magpie was still there giving advice (or laughing at their work). then a crow came to 'talk' to then and last but not least also a raven. all corvids! :rotf:

this continued for a rather long time. all three were entertaining our eagles. they didn't seem to be very pleased.

10:52 the corvids finally left and the eagles could relax and continue their work.
10:53 Milda kissed Raimis (or rather poked his face) a few times. Raimis went to the right branch and started tearing it. there were still some voices of a magpie and a raven.

10:55 Raimis returned to the nest and worked for a while.
10:56 he jumped to the left branch.

11:02 Raimis flew out.

11:03 Raimis returned with a stick. he started work.
11:04 Milda joined him and they worked together. then they danced the stick dance with a big stick again.
in the end Raimis decided where the stick should go. he was very determined about it.
11:06 Milda went to the top branch.

11:10 Raimis continued working after thinking for a while.

Abigyl! :rotf:

here's the second batch of videos from earlier today.

11:23 Raimis brought a difficult stick and used a lot of time in finding a place for it....
then he stopped and rubbed his bottom against the nest bottom.

11:29 Milda flew out.

11:30 she returned with a green twig. Raimis jumped to the right branch and began to tear it.

11:44 Raimis returned with another difficult stick and began work with it.
edit: no, he brought some hay. after he had landed he took up the earlier difficult stick and started working with that.

this stick was so difficult that he had a lot to do with it.
https://youtu.be/mPt7Tef03TY

Raimis rested every now and then for a while and then continued. at some point he figured out that he has to cut some pieces away. that made the stick a little easier.
in the end he put the stick on the far back side of the nest.

12:02 Raimis finished and he jumped to the left branch. Milda came down to the nest on her turn and more a few little twigs. then she rubbed her bottom against the nest. they both have the same thing under their tails probably, whatever that may be.
then she stood on the nest with her wide funny skirt. :D

12:23 she returned to the nest.

Raimis returned to the nest, too. they worked together...
12:24 Raimis went to the outer left branch.
12:25 Milda went to the top branch.

12:27 Both flew away, first Milda from the top and Raimis followed her to the left.

12:29 Raimis came with a straight stick with no complications.

12:30 Milda brought another like it, a straight easy stick. Raimis went to the left branch.

12:31 Milda went to the top branch.

12:32 Raimis flew out and made a few curves over the meadow before disappearing in the haze. (sun was shining uncomfortably in our eyes all morning.)

12:33 Milda flew away to the left.

12:37 an eagle flew by twice, first from the right to the left, then from the left to the right rather near the nest tree. a little after that an eagle flew form the left (again!?) and to the nest with hay. that was Raimis. i don't know who the first eagle was. maybe Milda?
Raimis waited...
12:38 Milda brought a stick. Then Raimis kissed Milda very carefully. then he went to the left branch.

12:40 Milda jumped to the right branch and went out of sight.

12:42 she flew out.

12:43 Milda brought a green twig. she didn't know what to do with it. she was accompanied by a raven.
Raimis went to the top branch.

12:47 Milda jumped to the left branch.

12:50 they flew away, Raimis from the top first, and then Milda after some hesitation.

14:05:36 a soft eagle's call, barely audible and right after that two dogs started barking in the forest. perhaps the eagle gave a warning call.
i wasn't even sure it was an eagle but at 14:15 Āzītis-Lāčuks wrote in the chat: "čau ērglīt". GT says it means "hot bird" but i think it must mean "eagle called" or something like that.
Edit: i think this wasn't an eagle's call after all.

Thanks ame for the nice videos.
I really like the video of Stick Dance.
I laughed loudly this morning when I saw it and I am glad that there is a video of it, I have added it to my favorite videos.

Good Morning !

Thanks Ame ! let's hope that when you put them this way, we'll be able to find them in the future; not like many of the pics and videos from previous years which were "Gone with the wind"...

And about the stick dance... Like all others, we like it too !

Each of us can see himself in it, because it reminds us many scenes from human's life.

When we first watched the nest with chicks for first season, we were told not to see it in human eyes. And all of us are trying, but sometimes it's hard.
When we see siblings fights or parents not feeding enough one of the kids.

This dance is opening us a mirror to our own behavior; sometimes we can learn from them :rotf:

We can make the wanted change later after the other is away and prevent a discussion, or we can accept the change proposed by the other and give it a chance, what if he saw something we've missed?

Happy long weekend !
