11:02:35 a big bird flew to the top.
Image

edit: mega2 has a particularly good picture of this bird. it's an eagle.
https://forums.dabasdati.lv/viewtopic.p ... 61#p233059

then an eagle called (upstairs?). a funny voice.
could it be Miks with the voice breaking to adult's voice? :puzzled:

11:14:55 the bird flew away, unfortunately out of sight.

I went back to listen again and again; I feel it's an eaglet, not an adult. But who knows...

At 10:27 I saw a bird flying from between oaks to the left of nest, but lower. It wasn't dark.

i agree: it didn't sound truly adult. :D

10:27 the bird was too small for an eagle. it was so blond that i guess it was a wood pigeon.

mega2 heard an eagle calling nearby already at 10:57. the voice sounded almost like an adult male's voice but not quite adult.

The tone of voice was a bit changed, but it sounded familiar... like Miks.

12:21 a flock of little birds flew by to the spruce on the right. their voices sounded like the voices of crosbills but i'm not sure.
12:35 there were little birds around the top of the nest tree. i think that these were also crossbills. they sounded like it and i think some of them looked red. they were, however, too far and too quick for good pictures.

13:12 onward there were eagle's voices. one eagle called relatively near with a somewhat unclear voice, maybe an eaglet but it sounded almost adult.
13:12:55 a male voice called far and the first eagle joined and called more. then the first voice flew closer.
13:13:33 the male voice called far and the first voice flew even closer by 13:14:00.
13:15:00 a female (?) voice called very far. this was difficult to hear because of the wind.
13:16:53 a male voice called on the top and probably landed at the top at the same time.
13:17:35 a sound of ruffling feathers on the top.

i think that this eagle on the top was probably Raimis. the first eagle was perhaps an intruder? :puzzled:

aaahhhhh, now i see that Abigyl and Liz have written soooo much already about this incident.
...but i found something else, something that Liz missed.
- actually i read in the YT chat that someone had heard an eagle voice at 13:13. :whistling:

13:25 calls from very far. Milda?
13:27 again.
13:28 a male voice called closer but not on the top. Raimis?

13:37 Raimis flew in and called. he looked alarmed and upset.
half a minute later Milda landed on the left branch. both looked around in the sky with unhappy faces. there must have been someone extra, someone whom they didn't like to be there.
Milda calmed down sooner and began to preen herself. Raimis looked unhappy for a longer time.
13:41 Raimis flew out.
13:43 Milda jumped down to the net and examined the sticks. maybe she made inventory and counted if all the sticks were there.
then Milda looked around...
13:46 she flew out.
this video has all their visit.

my impression was that there was an intruder, probably a strange male. the first voice who called closer to the nest sounded like a male. Raimis wanted the intruder away pronto!
