good morning!

the snow on the nest has 'shrunk', probably because of the wind. the temperature should be below zero still, according to the weather data. later today the temperature is expected to rise above zero and rain and sleet are expected to fall.

it has been too windy for hearing owl's voices. they probably even haven't called at all.
--- no, i happened to find one call!
the pointer stick is standing up and high again! :headroll: :rotf:

good morning!

has our pointer stick disappeared again? :puzzled:
yes, it has. the stick was still on the front rim in the evening when it became dark. this morning at dawn it was gone.
8:21 a pygmy owl called far (or 'behind' the wind).
i didn't look for more voices. this one i found by accident when i was looking t´for the stick.

a squirrel! :shake: thank you Liz!

we have had sunshine today although it was not expected in the weather forecast yesterday. :headroll:

the astronomical Noon was at 12:37:24. at this time the Sun was highest in the sky. 13 s before that the Sun was exactly in the South. these two do not necessarily coincide exactly.
Image

this picture shows the sky a minute before the astronomical Noon. the Sun was peeking from behind the clouds. after that the Sun came fully out of the clouds and was a big bright blob in the sky. in this picture we can its position properly. the difference of the positions of the Sun at these three times is much-much smaller than the visual diameter of the Sun.
so the South is in this direction. 8-)

good morning!

9:47 - 9:53 a raven is talking somewhere inside the fog. from 9:50 also a jay was calling nearby.
9:53 the raven flew away.
Image

Sonchik spotted the raven flying from the mist on the left (see below). i made a new longer video which has also the arrival of the raven.

10:02 the Sun is trying to drill a hole in the clouds and fog. the Sun is the tiny dot under the bright area, not the bright area.

yes! thank you Sonchik! :2thumbsup:
that's when the raven flew to the right side of the nest.
i made a new longer video which has also the arrival. i replaced the shorter video with it. it's on the previous page.

the weather has somewhat cleared.

13:42 two people were walking and talking under the nest. Andra and Digna125 saw them (in the YT chat). Nordri wrote that they had a dog with them, but i could not see a dog.

they sounded like men. the first wore a white coat and was easy to see, the second man had a dark coat and was mostly invisible. he had something white/light on his head. they stopped for a short while and i think they looked up.
after that they started to walk over the meadow to the left to the direction of the swan pond. i lost them out of my sight behind the Sisters.
