That was the first thing I saw. I asked in the chat who has such legs, except for golden eagles. No one's answering.

This chick has full trousers on, not breeches. So it's not a goshawk or a common buzzard, I guess.

a golden eagle came to my mind, too, wouldn't their chicks be bigger now? they also hatch very early in the spring, like WTEaglets.
besides it would be a very drastic move from Raimis to take a golden eaglet.

Today, the Latvian golden eagle chick died. He was a little older than that chick.
But he was born to a young mother and he hatched from a second egg. That's why it's so late.

no, Osprey chicks have bright legs, almost whitisch, and their beaks are dark, almost black. Their plumage is brown with lighter pattern.

i also would say it is a Spotted eagle, a Lesser spotted eagle.

the eaglets are both eating on their opposite sides of the nest. at least one of them is screaming all the time.
this is a long piece, 23 min, all good. most of the rest was so bad that i wanted to keep the good part.
