Camera is working, but the nest is empty. Blackbird is singing so nice.

Maybe it´s the same for Eha and Koit, as in the Latvian nest, lack of food? Maybe that is the reason why Eha and Koit have decided not to breed this year, and that Tuuli`s nest is empty?

I think they just changed the nest. This is "rich" mice year, there are a lot of frogs so the lack of food is not the reason. Maybe they did not like those cones and considered them suspicious. :puzzled:

So it´s no lack of food then, "only" an urge to change residence periodically (probably). Thank you for your answer, Asteria.

As we can't see more than this nest, we can only guess and hope that maybe Urmas or Joosep will be able to shed some light on this a bit later once it is time to check on the eaglets for ringing. We know Eha and Koit are back, so at least this is a worry less for us.
In Tuuli/Remo's case we know only that one eagle has come back, at least only one was caught by the Pontu camera.

Are the cameras off, because the nests are empty?

The "Tooni" started in the morning, I don't know what is with "Konnakotkas", if there is a problem with the equipment or other reasons made it necessary to close it.

Thank you, Felis.

Yes *Tooni* works today. It's also unlikely that the nests are still used. Maybe next year.

I have heard from Urmas about this camera. He went there and found the batteries weak. He went at dark in order not to disturb anything, that's why he can't say if somebody is incubating in the old nest. When the ringing time comes, they will know and also decide if they exchange the batteries. For the moment we have to wait for any news.
