Re: Black Stork Nest in Karula - 2016
all together,
about Karl: "Karl is a male Black Stork with white ring 715R in left leg. He is breeding in Karula National Park, Estonia and was possible to observe through must-toonekurg webcam on his nest. For example such a clip. Karl was caught in foraging grounds (small stream) about 1,5km of nest site. After trapping he did not visit nest for two days, but then common behavior restored. Also he did not learn to avoid nets for trapping, instead ate almost the fish in traps also later (but nobody wanted to re trap him, of course). Autumn migration started at 8th of August 2016. That's shortly after two chicks fledged in nest. After breeding Karl spent time more as 10 km northward of nest site." (from http://birdmap.5dvision.ee/en#)

About Karl:
...Black Stork Karl reached southern part of Sudan in 7th of October. Karl stops there in area where permanent water bodies may not exist. Therefore, in case of dry out Karl will fly southward, like few years ago did Black Stork Priidu...

Meanwhile Karl has reached the Suez Canal. I wonder if the nest cam will start before he reached Estonia? Hopefully!
