Petitions stopping the bird slaughter of migratory birds

Post by Felis silvestris »

Every spring and autumn migrating birds (like White and Black Storks, birds of prey like Greater and Lesser Spotted Eagles, Kestrels, Harriers, but also small birds like Whinchats, Pied Flycatchers, Nightingales, Greenfinches, Linnets, Robins) have to fly over places like Malta, Italy, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Cyprus, the Balkans and others. Every year thousands are killed there because it is thought sport, fun or hunting in those countries. Statistics show that only less than half of every year's young birds return from their first migration.

We would like to draw your attention to important petitions and campaings against the bird slaughter in this topic.

Further information you can find in the web on sites like: Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS)
or on web pages of animal rights or welfare organisations in your own country

The petition needs as many signatures as possible, so support this please and share it on facebook, twitter etc etc.

Thanks in advance.
