8/27/2018
14:02 - 14:31 - distant calls by the eaglet, on and off
14:32 - two majestic, wailing calls by an adult, the eaglet got quiet
14:45 - eaglet calls again in a distance
14:50 - 18:20 - no observations
18:26 - eaglet calls closer to the nest
18:31 - it is very close to the nest, calls frequently (can't see it)
18:35 - the eaglet flies away and calls in a distance, must be hungry, calls almost constantly
19:19 - Tiiu lands on nest with prey and is pushed off the nest by the eaglet, she lands in nearby tree
19:22 - Tiiu back on nest with a branch, looks around and leaves the nest
19:26 - fledgling jumps to the tree where camera is located
19:32 - fledgling flies away and keeps calling, can hear its voice until 20:18
20:50 - Tiiu lands on nest with prey, doesn't call, looks around
20:54 - Tiiu flies away, leaving prey on nest, it's completely dark but she has breakfast for annoying fledgling
Tiiu is unbelievable mother

August 28th

8:28 Tiia comes, then the eaglet about 1 minute later
8:33 Tiia tries to bring a branch, but the eaglet blocks the nest
8:34 Tiia comes back with a bigger branch, eaglet accepts it 😉, Tiia flies off
8:40 Eaglet still in the nest, calling and eating (probably last night's late delivery by Tiia)

9.55 The eaglet is sitting on the dry branch and pecking it.

Do young GSE have no red spot on their heads unlike the LSE ones?

This was really enjoyable to watch, especially how the eaglet scaled up the branch. I hope someone can make a video :whistling:

yes, not as gold brown. and with LSE the colouring of the stain varies at every single chick (also how long the spot remains golden brown, the more intensive it is, the longer it stays).

The eaglet(hybrid LSE/GSE) on Wojtek's picture https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 14#p612714 also does not have the bright spot.

No, they don't have. It's one way to identify them.

Good point, Asteria. They are all the same species.

By the way, on August 27, 2018 at 14:21, I heard twice a call similar to this (Tiiu?):

Today passed three weeks since fledging. In another three weeks each member of this family will start their own migration. We should be able to keep track of Tõnn. There is some possibility that we will see Tiiu again, if we could recognize her. But the fledgling......?
