Thanks for the explanation Asteriaasteria wrote: ↑August 25th, 2019, 3:42 pm Do you mean Drnka? The reason of the damaged skin is simple: she is molting. The second one, Lizinka, also started to molt. There are two roe does in Makov, Lizinka and Drnka, they have been living there since they were fawns and were fed by goat milk. They are not handicaped but can't be released in wild nature because they are tame.

That's why I didn't see it before. I watched the Deer cam in previous years, and never saw them molting like this.

Molting is a process where a deer normally sheds its hair twice a year, once in the spring to shed its winter coat, and in later summer to shed the summer coat. Hair loss usually occurs in patches until the molting process is completed (a normal coat can be seen beneath the molting hair).
During the summer, his coat has a slightly rust-red tint, but with the advent of winter, a new winter hair grows and its colour becomes noticeably dark (venison redyeing).
Abigyl, were the deers on the other cams so close to cam?
Lízinka: http://makovacek.netstranky.cz/kdo-je-k ... ml#foto-34
Lízinka has stronger eyebrows, is slightly darker, has a more robust figure and is lower than Drnka

Thank you Solo .... I have discussed these two deer already last year (other forum). Only .... I do not distinguish the two (Drnka, Lizinka).
But I have to say one thing; The two little gulls I have really closed in the heart. They are almost always close to Maruska and Honzik .... and Aunt Verijika.

Lizinka and Drnka also can be distinguished by their behavior: sometimes Lizinka chases Drnka away from the feeder but never vice versa, also Lizinka likes to put her legs in the bowl.

One of the gulls didn't show up in Makov after 8.26 cam time.
Upd: The gull is back after 10 hour hiding somewhere.

pleas help Hungarian storklovers
- too much young storklet perished in first days after they fly out of the nest and adult storks, raptors and also migrating birds are often victims. The numbers are very big - as a minimum, about 30 000 birds may be affected by an electric shock, medium 170 000, maximum 500 000 birds.

Good morning to all
Have some questions again;
Why are Barunek and Barunka back in the detention center?
Will not there be problems with the two young swans?
Thanks to Solo and Asteria for always giving answers?

Yesterday morning I saw Barunka bit both cygnets for their necks, she also tried to chase them off from the bowl. She is apparently not happy with new Makov guests. Barunek is not aggressive with them.

Some time ago I saw one of the cygnets took a piece of bread from Barunka and gave it to Barunek.

Repeating 2017: Marushka and then Honzik attacked the third stork and it was caught and taken away.

I watched them protecting their nest.
She was running all over the grass with her "half" leg, even in the forest. It was heart breaking
I know she is important for her hubby, but it's so sad to see her suffering for so long
Where is the couple now??? nest is empty
