22:48 the older owlet holds something by its talons, Lotte is on the ledge too

Sorry for such a strange information. It could be probably the same prey as earlier.
Good night. :offtobed:

No, it wasn't the same. Maybe the same kind of prey. Emmi have had her own and the bigger one too.

Good night

Lotte delivers a rat - and younger owlet claims it! :shake:
It has the whole rat for itself

While younger owlet was still enjoying its rat, Lotte delivered another rat, as far as I can see only the hind half of a rat.
Older owlet has its dinner with it

30. May

Owlets spent most of the night at the far end of the ledge, hardly visible, despite the cam was focussed on that end

05:10
Delivery out of cam view?
Maybe a little birdie or so, when Lotte came back in cam view she had some small feathers on her beak.

A quite unpleasant experience for the younger owlet

Both owlets were dozing, when older one wanted to get up.
Unfortunately younger one was still lying down and didn´t get out of the way, so older owlet stepped on its wing and didn´t let it go for several minutes, no matter how much the younger one chirped and fidgeted
But when younger one finally could "escape", it didn´t look as if it was resentful and also the wing seems to be okay

Most of the Time when I look at the camera, the big bird is very kind with the little one. Why was he/she so mean now?

A delivery on the ledge, older owlet is eating something, must be something that can´t be swallowed in whole ...

I think I saw also younger owlet eating from it later, but not 100 % sure

Next delivery on the ledge, again something bigger, older owlet gets it and starts eating/ripping from it

It has become difficult for the camera to follow all the events on the ledge. Owlets are running quicker and quicker every day and often spend time in different places or the farther part of the ledge.
Older one makes already quite nice wing exercises.

Lotte arrives on the ledge and stays for a while. I think she had no food with her.

She leaves up to the cam support

21:52 Food delivery

One can see the older owlet with a prey (rodent?) in its claws

Some seconds earlier:
Two on the ledge

P.S. I remember Lotte eating muskrat leftovers on this place some time ago (2 years?)... and I wonder why is this cam not able to show us this part of ledge? It was possible earlier, am I right?

2 year ago, there was a second cam active, too. Perhaps it was the second cam which took the pictures?

Wow, I did not know about 2nd cam. (or I did forget ) So you are probably right. Because we could see that opposite side of the ledge quite nicely that time...

Older owlet has "fenced" its younger sibling in the corner and gave it a long preening - younger seemed to enjoy and "fear" it at the same time, or maybe it just had a squeamish day

19:57
Younger owlet noticed a lizard on the rock wall and followed its ways with its eyes, maybe pondering about how a lizard would taste

Not long after the last delivery - new excitement on the ledge, younger owlet gets also a rat.
It took me a while to be sure about the kind of food, but in the end of its meal one can see legs and a long rat tail

22:07
End of the rat is gulped down in whole

Next delivery, older owlet gets it, but no chance to see what it was.
Not big enough to swallow it in whole, it worked a while on it
