15:46 eaglets are playing with a cone. this is a practical game: they are practising plucking prey.
after a while Malda (?) realized that playing the piano at the same time was not practical. she took the cone in her claws and then the plucking worked better.

15:56 an eagle flew from the forest on the right and then by high in the sky in circles. it had to be Raimis since Milda didn't call alarm.

the eaglets continued looking high in the sky for a while even after this.

Someone unwanted was near the nest

17:07:50 Milda watched something with puffy head feathers
17:09:25 Raimis made alarm calls, then Milda too. Eagle is seen on the left (i think its Raimis and stranger is flying above the nest)
Image

17:09:42 Raimis landed on a right branch and kept calling
Image

i couldnt see who was the unwanted guest :puzzled:

17:29 Raimis flew out

thank you Crissy!

i think i heard a bird's call just before and right after Raimis landed on the right branch. it reminded me of a honey buzzard's call. :help:

maybe that was again one unhappy parent?

He didn't fly away, he dived. He was down there for 5 minutes. Very interesting, what was it?
When Raimis returned to the nest, He was looking for the chick he had brought and did not rest until he found it.

Milda is still here?

thank you for your comments Sonchik! i knew that you would see where Milda was flying. :D
i'll look up the other events later.

Raimis has had a somewhat strange attitude towards the hawk's chicks which he has brought, or perhaps to all bird chicks he has brought. several of them were still alive when delivered. i can't remember that he killed any of them after delivery, and i can't remember that he has cut any of them and served them to the eaglets. Milda has done the dirty work. i can't say if there is a pattern but there might be something.

20:20 some serious WEx by Malda(?) with legs spread far out from each other. then she backed to the toilet but didn't shoot. - i can't remember this happening so often in the previous years. they both a re so slow and often fail to make a shot.
20:33 she got up again, apparently to make a shot....

... but no PS.
Sonchik wrote: June 2nd, 2020, 4:53 am Before that, at 20:19, she called her parent, I think.

20:19 a parent probably flew by and the eaglet called in an eaglet's voice.

Raimis did not feed the Eaglets this year. How was it last year?
Milda't look too experienced in this matter. She took a veeeeeery long time to kill a hawk chick, which lived in the nest for about 6 hours.

Milda killed the hawkling rather quickly after she came to the nest to stay at about the noon. she had seen the hawk chick a little earlier but flew away, but after she came back it didn't take long before she had made her decision.
Raimis has fed the eaglets with fish in every year. in the previous years how many birds did Raimis bring? i can't remember. this year it has been very different. he has been a menace to all other birds of prey in the whole province. :slap:

At 21:24, Milda was measuring her beak with the Chicks. Rather rigid.
Sonchik's original post is here:
viewtopic.php?p=737673#p737673
to me it seemed that it all began with an insect, maybe a mosquito, disturbing Milda.
she began to shake her head and that disturbed one of the eaglets who began to peck Milda. after a while also the other eaglet was disturbed by this fuss. with this other eaglets Milda measured beaks for a longer time. in the end also Milda became irritated.
all three seemed to take it too seriously, even or especially Milda in the end. she was annoyed! :slap:

21:27 big babies are trying to cuddle under mummy. :D
this is an equation which has no solution. :slap:
