:hi:

09:07 Teo lands on cam stand with two short calls
09:14 Teo calls, still on cam
09:34 Teo jumps down into the nest, he calls and after some seconds he flies off
12:22 Teo comes with a branch
13:12 Teo again with a branch
15:28 Teo flies in with a branch and this time he stays for some minutes

For me, Teo doesn't look very relaxed during his visits. I wonder if it has anything to do with the honking car on the 24th and the people under the nest on the 25th July ... is the area around the nest not protected :puzzled:

Some little birds visit the nest ...

Here a clip from yesterday, two or maybe three Woodpecker around the nest. One of them is on the nest and interested in the cam

16.08.05 a male osprey briefly visited the nest
Image

16.08.06 only touched the nest edge for a moment and flew off immediately
Image

as far as i could see the osprey was not ringed

and i'm rather sure it was not our Teo

16.08.35 landed on the cam stand

16.11.15 the osprey flew off from the cam stand and away

:hi: balistar

this Osprey did not come back ... and I'm still quite so sure if it was Teo. The head looks different.
Also yesterday humans people could also be heard near the nest ... was there a hunt?
So many things happened that I didn't report on. Some days ago
shots could be heard like on a hunt.

I am so unsure to report on this nest because there are a lot of things I don't understand and I don't want to get into trouble with uploading videos.

Aren't the osprey nests in Lativia protected too?

My last seeing of Teo was August 12th

Edit: use a speaker amplifier and therefore various things may not be heard under normal circumstances ... and it's a pity that we never get a response from a Latvia member or a member who understand/can translate ... so we are alone and have to figure out all.

Watching this nest after a lot of interference from people, shots I don't know what to think about it ... would Teo appear more often? I am totally insecure and it is a shame to observe these many disturbances. Have recorded most of it and I'm very sad.
Also wonder what if the chick was raised ... what would have happened? Also so many disturbances near the nest?

:hi: Shanta,

i'm sorry, i don't quite understand what you want to say ... ?? :puzzled:
i already wrote "and i'm rather sure it was not our Teo" .... and i have put in a close-up of the Osprey, where is to see, he has not the mark which Teo has in his eye.

Concerning the hunting:
As far as i remember, there are set times for different hunting opportunities. A member once published a list, unfortunately i no longer know whether it was Estonia or Latvia - or both countries.
Apart from that there are certainly - as everywhere - black sheep who hunt even in the prohibited times. Yes, that is very sad.

Currently i don't follow the cam and the thread every day anymore. It might be - as i assumed earlier - Vita and Teo have already started their migration.

I hope to see them returning in next spring, both healthy and strong, and i also hope to see you all again back here in the thread

Shanta, I understand your questions. I have questions a lot, but I think we are hoping too much. A lot is happening in Bubo's Nest that I don't understand. A lot of what I ask but never get an answer. I worked long hours on the documentation but when it got difficult I was on my own. I will no longer document. None of the nests. The operators seem to have no interest in working with our observations and in dialogue with us. We are doing good work! But it is often more a pleasure for us than that. There is silence about our commitment .... I no longer respect that. Well, in fact, I often heard gunshots while observing the Latvian nests. Not in Estonian territories. Bubo's nest ... Teo's nest was very restless during the last few weeks and observers from Raimis and Milda's nest reported about it. hunting tourism? Let’s say it out loud.

Hopefully our dream team will have a safe migration. I love both and no matter where and how ... my heart is with these wonderful birds. :innocent:

I feel dizzy ....

I love Teo (he remains my darling) ... his Vita and the nest.
And I will pursue it - definitely.

I just don't know if I'll document it again. I'm crying right now because I'm scared of what's going to happen. But maybe it's the right moment to hope for miracles.

Thank you Liz, you honey ... for the starting gun. :2thumbsup:

Let's go!

Hello everyone,

I hope for a good season with all Ospreys returning and no Goshawk attacks.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
