CZ - RS Makov (Rescue Station Makov https://www.makov.cz/clanky/about-us-19.html)
https://youtu.be/xOsXWkp1_BM

- handicaped pair, male with ring (M - Toník, F - Tonička)
- eggs: 08./09.04. + 10./11.04. + 12./13.04. + 14.04./15.04. + 17.04.

the fourth egg arrived shortly before midnight (all previous eggs shortly after midnight)
the fifth egg arrived in the early morning shortly before 4h
icechips wrote: April 28th, 2021, 10:53 pm ...I watch one in the Czech Republic... She has 5 eggs. My question if feeding is good there, will they raise all 5 if they survive? I have seen the 4 eggs and think they have had to eliminate one. ...
:hi: Icechips,
today evening (28.04.) - all 5 :D

Makov is Rescue Station in CZ, they had enough food for the chicks :headroll:

:puzzled: or you think about white storks nest? this year are 5 eggs on very much streamed nest (not only in Czechia, also in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, ...)

white storks raise usually 2-3 chicks, some times 4, rarely 5 or 6
the problem is not only the availability of food, but also what is the difference (in days) between the storklets, if they all hatched strong enough (the latter are sometimes too weak - hatch-week), the adults adjust the size of the food to the oldest chicks, ...

No idea how much food they get in Makov but in Moscow zoo each black stork has only 350 g of fish, 350 g of meat, 2 mice and 5 frogs a day. :puzzled:

I have info from Mr. Šejna to black storks: 1 adult bird per day - "if I do it on a one-day-old chicken, then about 10 - 12 chickens, if they eat fish, they will arrange about 10 roaches with a size of 10 -15 cm. Everything is just an estimate, now before winter all animals eat more, in summer it will be less."

btw. in captivity they have lower energy expenditure and thus lower food consumption than in the wild
