In the background on the left side of the picture
I saw a large bird flying in the distance.
I assume the eagles are near.
It would be good to take the remains of the birds
and the rabbit with you if the cause were lead or the bird flu.

Gunnar said that EE2 had a very full or swollen ('punnis' - difficult to translate) belly and EE1 had a pellet stuck in the throat and in the beak. That's basically all he said about the eaglets.

Gunnar explains that he will try to collect everything that could be an evidence of what happened. He mentions that there are a lot of egg shell pieces; he also collects parents' feathers.
"Edible fish" will remain in the nest, he said.

I did not quite understand what he said about the hare. Maybe I'll listen to it again later.

EDIT: I hear "See vist igapäevane" = 'I guess it's an everyday/common/regular/ordinary thing'. But this makes not much sense, does it? :puzzled: I may have heard it wrong. Maybe someone else has better sound and/or ears.

I am very excited how the animal rights activist
in the nest is removing anything that could be the trigger.
He works very thoroughly - very well. Many Thanks

i will make a video. But not now.
It's enough. Many days of stress - after the Latvian nest it was a short pleasure here.

I apologize again for accidentally mistaking the names.

Thank you to Gunnar and all those who are now going to undertake this 'detective' work of determining what has happened here.

thank you very much for the reports and thank you Gunnar for coming!
i have now watched the video (thank you Mutikluti!)
Gunnar treated the chicks with utmost respect. thank you!

i sincerely wish that the results of the analyses will shed light on the events here.

btw: it is astonishing how dry the nest hay still were after all that rain in the afternoon. dust was blowing when Gunnar was digging in.

You are welcome! He did not say much, wisely.
Now it remains to wait for the results of the investigation.
I also hope to see Eve and Eerik visiting the nest soon.

Gunnar said that a hare is not common prey for White-tailed eagles. They eat it, if they can catch some or during the winter (they eat caracasses of animals), but mostly they prefer fish and birds.

Now we can all relax a little.
I also suffered and cried. I think we all felt very similar.
I wish everyone that it will soon be easier
and I continue to hope that Eve and Eerik,
as well as all other wild birds,
will be spared and can raise their babies well and healthy.

Good evening & good night to you
