02:30:50 - Altynai awakes! Stands up, stretches wings etc, & reorients. Takes her time, rolls eggs & resettles on them. She tucks back into sleep.

Birdsong well & truly underway now.

03:03:40 - Altynai awakes again, pecks at the nest bowl & cleans her front that in within the nest bowl, vigorously. Wipes her feet off, then rolls the eggs slightly while reorienting & resettling.

03:20:00 - She remains asleep, incubating.

20 May 2022 (Friday):

03:35:27 - Altyn makes his first appearance of the day at the nest: sweeps in from below (from the other side of the trunk) to land on the right branch. He's bearing a foliated twig (I don't recognise the plant).

Altyn waits behind Altynai, who has not stirred at all from her incubation. He decides to ask firmly by shovelling her lower left side, to which she responds by standing.

Oddly he already has muddy paws even before entering the nest bowl (which has plenty of manure in it, caking the eggs & muddying their feet).

Altynai hops up to the left branch while Altyn rolls the eggs.

03:36:40 - Altynai flies off; Altyn continues rolling rolling & settling on their eggs.

03:45:05 - Altynai returns via right branch. Altyn rises from the eggs as Altynai descends the branch. She moves a large foliated twig that pushes Altyn towards the camera. Altyn hops up to the left branch while Altynai rolls & settles on eggs.

03:47:15 - Altyn flies off.

04:00:00 - Altynai asleep.

04:20:00 - remains asleep.

06:20:33 - Shift Change 4 - Altyn ➡ Altynai:

An eagle like them lands on the outermost part of the right branch, with hay in its beak, then flies off very soon after!

Altyn then tracks the flight of a bird with his eyes while incubating.

A few seconds later Altynai arrives (back?) on the right branch with hay in her beak, but in the usual spot, then comes into the nest. She drops the hay as Altyn stands & moves off the eggs. He hops onto the left branch & squarks; she rolls the eggs. He stays perched while she gets fully settled.

06:23:46 - Altyn flies off. Some squarks can be heard (from Altyn, presumably) close by, off camera.

07:22:05 - Shift Change 5 - Altynai ➡ Altyn:

Ahead of Altyn's return, Altynai is looking around more alert than usual, craning her neck, etc.

07:24:21 - Altyn returns landing right in the nest with some peculiar foliage (?). He "asks" with his beak to see the eggs, seeking to incubate more, to which Altynai eventually is persuaded. She backs up so the two eagles both end up crowded around the eggs. Altyn steps into the nest bowl PAWING the eggs before settling upon them.

07:25:29 - Altynai flies off, after hopping to the left branch

07:40:00 - Altyn as he was, incubating.

07:51:21 - Altynai returns with a foliated twig near the trunk. Altyn rises off the eggs as she approaches, spreading his wings wide in the nest. As Altynai lays the foliage alongside the nest bowl, Altyn jumps up onto the left branch. He perches there while she continues & then settles onto the eggs.

07:53:56 - Altyn flies off.
