MAY 28

10:55: Anna flies away after she has been calling often -
10:56: Andris brings the long awaited breakfast - a vole? Anna flies away with it, Andris settles down on the nest, and we can hear Anna 'tjück-tjück-ing' from another tree. Andris rearranges some twigs.

11:05: A Great Tit visits the tree. And Anna is constantly signalling that she is still there.
11:12 f.: Andris uses the time for preening.

16:32: See what Andris brings right now: a giant (water?) rat (?). Anna flies off with it, Andris settles down on the nest.

16:42 f.: A chirping Anna waits to take over again - and she has to chirp for at least a minute or so, ostentatively changes branches in order to get access to the nest, until Andris finally makes place and leaves.

:rotf: - It would be interesting to know why she sometimes eats one of her soft feathers. Maybe it helps her with forming her pellets? I have - in a quick search - only found that grebes (Podicipedidae), s. here eg.:https://www.audubon.org/news/grebes-the ... -heres-why) use their own plumes for this purpose.

12:54 ff.: Anna in distress. She is watching very attentively for a while and begins to call, at 12.54:11 (time stamp thank you, YT-chat!) an obviously strange LSE flies by. Seems to be circling above the nest, Anna reacts accordingly, calling. At
12:56:25 the stranger flies back to where he came from.

i know it's likely about another week, but isn't it possible that the hatch could happen any day now ?

IceAge, :hi: thanks for reporting. :2thumbsup:
Unfortunately I am busy with black stork. But no longer with a golden eagle. I will join again as soon as the the little cute chick is here

15:08 Anna returned home. She is chirping. A LSE flew past. Most likely Andris
15:09 Andris came in with a twig

I can't wait for the chick to hatch.
Anna and Andris is my favorite nest next to Milda & Voldis

16:07 she is preening herself and roll the egg
