In this video, it looks like the egg breaks under Hilma's weight at 00:03:01 (0:22 in the video). The egg was most likely infertile and may have been leaking for many days.

Poor Hilma & Onni :(
Such wonderfully placed nest under white nights and so much unlucky - often not returned parents, stolen or broken eggs ... so sad :(((

Muonion sääksikamera – Muonio osprey cam

The new nest cam of the Finnish Osprey Foundation operates in Muonio, Finnish Lapland. The nest locates about 160 km (100 miles) north from the polar circle. The nest is natural, built by the ospreys themselves. This nest has now been inhabited for 2 or 3 years. Both 2020 and 2021 three chicks were ringed here. Ospreys arrive to these northern nests at the beginning of May when there is still snow and ice covers the lakes.
Agnico Eagle Finland Oy supports the Muonio osprey cam.

This is where the little one's strength fades ... still 18.31 Miila would have offered food - she can't take it. A few meals have also been missed. There has been discipline again today. Sadness also came here in Paltamo, even though the food economy here has been so steady.

21 July 2022 05:48, RIP - The youngest had hatched 5 days later than the firstborn. It would be 24.7. was 1 month old. In 2019, the third chick in the nest died and even then the age difference was 5 days. The nest was its cradle and grave.
