07:07 interesting morning photo: Iks is trying to sort out the wire...

He has grown up, but he does not have visible shoulder straps (white stripes at the base of the wings) like the others.

Iks has them as well, look:

Hi all :hi:
exciting times! I thank you all so much for your recording and interesting discussions!

If the trail camera at the feeding baskets is still going to work for a while - we might finally get to know whether or not parents teach their kids where and how to fish! I would be very curious to know that. I am sure Karl II would chose one of the baskets as the best place. :shake:
“Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being.” (G. Kowalski) Caveat: Apart from this remarkable sentence I do not agree with his philosophies.

15:55 They are waiting for food! So far it hasn't been that much.
Waba and Iks are preening

15:58 Bonus is flapping the wings
Three of them can fly. If they were really very hungry, they would search on the ground. So everything is fine.
But for me, food for them would be nice

We don't want that!
Karl should teach the young ones how to find food in the natural environment.
While it has been necessary to provide a reliable source of food till now, the time is coming when the young storks must know how to feed themselves without having Urmas and others to provide for them.

Jo, That's exactly what I thought

as far as I could see they are already looking for something to eat near the nest!
Under Zile and Ozol's nest was a brook. The juveniles practiced there :D

good day to all

Yes, dear Karl II....now you can see how Kaia was looking for food...it was a good change between different food sources.
I hope, sweet Kaia has a good rest before she packs her bags.

it was a dramatic arrival. Waba flew through the forest from the right and then came into the nest.

18:00:40 Storklet in front of Waba goes up vertically. that was Voog

Waba is a very excited and nervous black stork. At least one thriller or two or three every day.

Is that actually moss that Waba brought with him? :puzzled: or is that a net?
