Re: Harriet & M15, American Bald Eagle Cam

Post by Liz01 »

A friend of Desiree Deliz (one of the local photograhers) was able to go to Harriet and M15’s nest tree. She reports that the nest is gone, but the nest tree remains. The fence is damaged and there are people there fixing it. Harriet and M15 have not been spotted.

I was so happy to see him carrying a long new branch to start their new nest ASAP

It was such a great story! A small drop of joy in the middle of all the bad news from the area

WOW! It's a nice start but the way is still very long....
They had such a nice and large nest :slap:

I think that in Durbe it took them about a week to restart a new nest; here there might be easier with many branches in the area.

Birdfriend, glad to meet you again

H & M have been seen mating during the past few days. They do aim laying eggs in their nest even this year. Tracey Reynolds Pinette from Harriet & M15 Eagle Lover's Group in FB pointed out that eagles can build a nest ready for egg laying in only 10 days. Tracey herself lives in the area near the nest and has followed Harriet from the beginning of the screening since 2012 and provides us followers a lot of accurate information, even now when her internet and electricity conditions have failed. No information is known whether the cams can be set up for this season after the hurricane Ian's disaster. We can only wait and hope.

A beautiful video of the amazing race by Harriet and M15 of rebuilding the nest. The hurricane Ian left lots of suitable material for rebuilding.
