yes, Karl II is really amazing.

I checked where he spent the winter: the last two years he was in the Central African Republic, which is near the equator!

 Anne, thank you for the great pics and detailed info from Madi. I can only imagine that these fields on the Island might be marshy enough to find sufficient food as well ?
….
I think you are right, Balistar! Probably little Madi finds enough food in the ditches/canals of these fields. Otherwise, s/he would look elsewhere.

Thanks a lot for all your great work!

Balistar :D

Little Madi seems to be in a wonderful area. Clever bird!

But we will indeed have to wait and see if s/he stays here for a while or just flies over.

S/he is (was) somewhere there in the distance, across the Danube

It would be so wonderful if one day we'd see a photo like this from somewhere showing our dear Iks or Voog... I hope they're doing as well as all the other storks we're following this year... (And of course I hope we'll learn what's going on with Eedi and that he is also okay...)

Concerning Udu, I'm wondering, will he even migrate, or will he stay in Italy? I read that Spain has become a place where black storks stay all year, and I know that white storks increasingly even stay in southern Germany...
