Re: Latvian WtE nest webcamera Juras-erglis Durbe 2022
17:21 a rustling sound, like someone landing. on the nest or nearby?
it's too dark to see anything...
17:28 rustling sounds again. like take-off this time??
well, we'll see tomorrow if someone really visited the nest.

good morning!
6:55 the camera started.
the nest is becoming visible but it's still too dark to see if there are markings on the snow.
- it seems that there's more snow. the branch on the right is hanging lower than yesterday.
7:46:30 a pygmy owl called. he has started early.
... or hasn't he finished yet?

8:16 a fieldfare talked nearby. i think i heard a bullfinch a little earlier. yes, at 8:11.
the snow looks untouched but it's still not light enough to see properly.
8:48 now there's light enough but there's no contrast. all is bright white.

8:31 a great tit talked nearby.
8:32 a nuthatch talked nearby.
8:57 a willow tit talked nearby. then a blue tit.
they all stayed out of sight.

it has become cloudy and darker than earlier although the Sun is struggling in the sky to light up the scenery.
i can't see any extra markings on the snow.
this is from yesterday afternoon.
there isn't a lot of new snow. the poop branch and the branch on the top right are hanging lower but the layer of snow on the poop branch is not much thicker. the rustling was probably someone lower in the tree or on the ground.

10:35 calls. was that a real eagle or a fake eagle?
if that was a fake eagle it was more skillful than usually.
the bird repeated the call 3 times in the same way. eagles don't do that. i think it was a jay practicing the imitation.

10:57 eagles called, real eagles! both!
first Milda called and half a minute later both called, Voldis too.
perhaps the earlier calls belonged to eagles after all.
11:08:00 (about) Milda called.
we don't need them to come to the nest. they let us know that they are here.

12:10 a nuthatch flew to the top branch and talked loud.
12:11 she flew away.

12:53 they were far.
12:59 they were very far, barely audible. thank you Digna125!

Good Morning ame
thanks for reporting and videos
that looks strange either the camera has rotated or the nest has disappeared
7:33 that's weird.wait and see what we see when it's light. I think the nest is still there? The tree trunk may be a reflection

good morning!
thank you Liz for the pictures!
the Moon was quite "behind our back" and the shadow of the camera trunk was on the nest. we don't see it often.
if you look carefully you see that the shadow moves to the right as the Moon moves to the left (to the west). the shadow happened to lie exactly on the opposite trunk when the camera started (at 6:57 by the way) that they looked as if they together were one trunk and the nest had disappeared.

the Sun is rising.
8:57 was the 'official' time of sunrise in Liepāja.

Good Morning!
It's getting worse every day...
There is hope for some "frozen sun" later
