Woman thinks she's photographing cute bird: Then she realizes the truth
Central Coast (Australia) - "Oh how cute, a baby owl swallow!" This was the thought that went through Kym Beechey's head when she discovered the "animal" in the Australian Popran National Park.
The amateur photographer had been to the park at the end of August to hike and take pictures of plants. As The Dodo reports, Kym Beechey is a quiet, rather slow person.
It is therefore not fast enough to photograph the wild animals running around, which is why the Australian has specialized in plants.
Speaking to The Dodo, Beechey said, "The birds are usually way too fast for me to catch them, so when I saw a baby owl swallow sitting low on a branch, I was super excited."
The hiker didn't want to miss the "animal", which she even seemed to be smiling at. When she had her camera aimed at the "being", Beechey zoomed in a little. Shortly afterwards, her penny dropped.
"It wasn't until I focused the photo and wondered why it [the animal] didn't fly away that I realized it was actually just a Banksia," Beechey said.
Banksias are plants that occur almost exclusively in Australia and belong to the silver tree family. Only one of 80 different species is also found outside the continent.
Although the "bird" had turned out to be a "cheat", Beechey was glad to have met "him". Because she could laugh heartily at the incident. In addition, she is now the proud owner of an "actually-not-a-bird-picture", which now belongs to all of her beautiful wildflower pictures.
The lady also published the picture of the non-bird in the public Facebook group "carp bird photography". Beechey got more than 2,600 likes there.

this comics strip was published already more than a year ago. now it suddenly seems very up-to-date, if not even visionary.

Everyone knows him in relation to a film romance.
But did you know that this song was actually composed as a Christmas carol?

This is funny and touching Story at the same time
The supposed hedgehog was brought to the hedgehog station in a cardboard box.
One night an English woman tried to spruce up a hedgehog she had found. But nothing helped: he didn't even move. When she got a vet to help, it became clear why. “She was very embarrassed,” says the veterinarian.
What to do if you find a baby hedgehog these days is easy to find out on the Internet. And so a woman from the county of Cheshire in northwest England packed her find in a cardboard box and placed a plate with some cat food next to the little creature. But nothing helped: the next morning the fluffy something had neither moved nor eaten.
She excitedly drove to the nearest hedgehog station, the Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital in Knutsford, British media reported on Tuesday. There she handed the box to veterinarian Janet Kotze. “The woman gave me the box and said she had found a baby hedgehog on the sidewalk during the day,” Kotze told the Mirror. That was a little alarming, “Actually, it’s still too early in the year for a hedgehog cub. And they shouldn’t be outside during the day either.”
She opened the box and immediately saw that it couldn't be a hedgehog. It turned out to be nothing alive at all. “When I told the woman that it was just a bobble from a bobble hat, she was very embarrassed.” She quickly took the box and disappeared with it.
“At least her heart is in the right place,” said the veterinarian about the woman, who preferred to remain anonymous. “Basically, she did everything right, except that it wasn’t a hedgehog cub that she saved.”
