yes, that is quite possible that Voldis is eating somewhere where Milda can see him. Milda is crying in such a way. :laugh:

Voldis is in a tough place now: he has to escape two hungry beaks. :mrgreen:

16:50:37 a big bird flew high in the sky from left to right. maybe it was an eagle.
16:51 Voldis flew back with the food.
it's not fish. it has fur. and a face. i think it's a raccoon dog's head with some spine.

17:06 Voldis came back. Milda is not grateful at all. she pecked him.
17:07 Voldis jumped to the upper left branch. he cleaned is beak...
17:08 he flew out.
Milda went on eating.

17:15 someone landed on the top. Milda called kaa-kaa-kaa...
she looked up... then she continued eating.

What an amazing sequence of WTE pair behaviour! Voldis flies around with the prey, showing it to Milda, but no, not sharing. It's as if he would try out her 'patience' and drive her really mad, making her whine from afar. You know what? To me, it looked a little like 'Educating Milda'. When he returned a second time and Milda was permitted to come to the nest, he simply stepped away and was busy with the nest bowl, leaving the prey to her and not making any attempt to get it back. Oh boy, and she was really mad at him. It looked as if, during the first minutes, she was coping with her anger by picking on the head.Now, at 17.25, she seems much more relaxed, she is really eating now - and not banging a prey's head instead of Voldis' head .....

now he has to learn to hand over the prey with joy. :rotf:

This is a completely normal process in a new relationship. They will breed together for the first time.
Raimis behaved the same way. We think they're acting weird. We just don't understand. That's all. Everything is normal for the eagles.
My opinion. :D

hmm... to me it seemed more like Voldis was learning a lesson. i suppose it's a matter of perspective, which side we are looking at this. 8-)

then Voldis flew in. is he really thinking that he could get the rest from Milda? no way. :laugh:
he is standing there and getting used to the new feeling... :whistling:

17:56 Milda finished. both flapped their wings at each other. they didn't call.
17:57 Voldis out. then he flew around (sound of wings).
17:58 Milda flew out, too.


then silence.

i have to go. feeding time for me. :whistling:
