Change - female flies away and male sits on the egg.

10:51: Long awaited, E 340 comes back and perches on the p-branch. 'Smiley' is calling loud, but first they have to make sure that the area is safe.
10:53/54: Change. 'Smiley' hops onto the p- branch and flies off, E 340 takes over.

12:27 ff.: E 340 rises - could you call that an" egg-rolling"? It was more a 360°-turn-around for himself. And of course, the egg had to be placed properly. Not so easy, but with time, they will gain more and more experience with handling the precious one(s). And up to now, they are really doing a good job. -
13:23 ff.: Egg roll.

14:25: That was a good one. E 340 gets up and poops over the nest rim in front of the camera. I hold my breath: don't rise higher, don't hit the lense ...Phew! We're lucky. Big PS, splish-splash.
15:05 f.: Egg roll.

15:19: A WTE lands on the top of the left branch. We cannot see any distinctive features. E 340 calls, but stays glued to the egg.
15:22: This WTE flies off at 15:22.
Sounds: like breaking branches, or maybe crashing, a WTE is seen circling over the meadow.
15:25: 'Smiley' perches on the p-branch, watching the area.
15:26: She flies away once more.
15:27: She enters the nest with a big bunch of material.
E 340 makes place and leaves at 15:28.
I'll review this. Was there a third eagle involved or not? Not sure.
15:53 and 15:57: 'Smiley' calls,
15:57: E 340 returns with a big bundle of hay.
16:03:58: E 340 leaves from the p-branch where he has preened himself.

16:43: Egg roll. (I bet there are many, me included, who begin to monitor her breathing rate. She seems quite relaxed now ...)
Thank you YT-chat for some time stamps, I was away feeding the birds at my feeding place.
17:09: Egg roll.
17:12: ? Much calling (I'll review that later - if I don't forget it.)
17:22: Digging in the nest bowl, egg roll and new position for 'Smiley'.
17:32: E 340 -> flight show: circling around with another big bundle of hay.
17:33: She 'whines' a little.
17:34 ff.: E 340 waits on the p-branch. She actually rises from the nest bowl and...
17:35: ... leaves from the p-branch. The nest is his again.

18:44: E 340 rolls his egg.
Currently:
19:13 f.: He wakes up, looks around and then calls very loud and long.
19:32: He calls again, very loud - I think he's summoning her to come back. I'm not sure if I heard it right: was there a second voice answering him? Or was it " the echo of the meadow"?
19:40: Egg roll.

Good morning Matsalu, good morning everybody!
09:07: Amazing flight show by E 340. He soars and circles over the meadow again and again, with a nice bunch of hay in his claws. 'Smiley' is softly asking for a change.
09:09:E 340 arrives at the nest.
He begins to incorporate the material:
... and takes a nap, head tucked in his back feathers.

Several egg rolls and change of position by E 340.
Known in the YT-chat as "the cute sleeper" - thanks to this privileged cam view right into the nest.
The weather is perfect today: A little windy, sunny (energy supply for the cam!), maybe cold - but eagles are not made of sugar, they are used to weather conditions far worse which would make us humans rather stay inside. They are outdoor creatures through and through.
Good question in the YT-community: Why was E 340 flying like this over the meadow until he finally entered the nest? I think this exercise has several meanings. He demonstrates his qualities as supplier of material, showing his female again and again: I can do it, can you see me? Second: I could imagine that this extended 'flight show' is also signalling: my territory, in case you others haven't realized it yet. This meadow is mine. Third: the pure joy of flying around, carrying a load. - But these are just my ideas.

Thank you IceAge for the pics. from last evening!
11:30ff.: Egg roll. And two PS over the nest rim.
11:48: 'Smiley' arrives - with more lichen-covered sticks and twigs.
11:51: E 340 leaves from the p-branch.
12:10: 'Smiley' sees something and calls.
12:13: Egg roll.
Now she has found a good position, the wind gusts may be really strong today.
12:41: Egg roll.
12:44: And again. Padding the nestbowl. Always watching the surroundings.
12:50: And once more. The wind gusts change direction frequently, not so easy to prevent them getting under your wings. - Hmmh, number two might (! might, I think) be on the way, too ....
13:00: Egg roll, new position.
13:08: She sees someone in the sky and calls, twice.
13:20: 'Smiley' calls again.

13:24: Egg roll.
13:47: PS over nest rim next to camera, egg roll.
14:36: Egg roll. (I have surely missed the one or the other rolling of the egg, I hope you can live with that....)
14:37 ff.: 'Smiley' calls, loud and long.
14:40 f.: Calling again.
14:49: Egg roll. - Oh dear, she is really restless and alert all the time.
15:15: Egg roll.
15:16: And turns around, because the wind gets under her wings.
15:17: She calls. (Now this might be a vocalised wish for change - or at least: a snack? I'm not good at specifying eagle calls.)

15:19 ff.: Soft begging calls, I'd say. A WTE flies over the meadow from the left to the right. He answers her calls, this should be E 340. She continues with her soft calling, another egg roll. Ka-ka. - No, he will probably get something for the nest first. At least, he is not far.
15:27: But this takes too long - she leaves the nest.
15:28/29: Branching on a top at the left, E 340 soars down onto the nest and covers the egg.
Due to the wind, he had to circle a few times in order to find a safe entry.
<feeding time for me, too>

Sleeping, what else!
16:37: Egg roll.
17:24: Egg roll.
17:54: Egg roll. A little nest bowl improvement, but mainly: having it mighty comfy. He has always liked to lie down in the nest and nap or sleep, from the beginning on. -
I don't know, is this typical for male WTEs, if they have an opportunity to do so? Or just for this one?

18:29: E 340 rolls his egg.
18:56: " and shortly before 19:00 as well- he was adjusting his position. Back to slumber.
19:38: E 340 is calling, twice. He has seen his mate already.
19:39: 'Smiley' arrives with a short branch.
Carefully he walks around her, after some eagle-yoga (stretching wings) and then leaves from the p-branch.

20:00: Egg roll. She's turned her back to the cam. (This would be perfect for observers, just a hint, Madam...)
She is sleeping now.
We'll see if there will be a second egg. - Just a reminder: E 340 was an only nestling. And look at him today!

Good morning Matsalu, good morning everyone!
Thank you IceAge!
Thank you Baiba, YT-chat , for the time stamp:
08:42: E 340 is calling. He has watched the area at the right very attentively for 2 or three minutes before calling, then this disturbing individual must have moved to the area behind the cam, although probably not very close (I haven't noticed any noises such as wing flaps), and E 340 vocally clearly states who is in charge of the territory.
Currently (09:56) sleeping - he surely has a talent for saving and renewing energy in these times.
10:01 ff.: Egg roll.
10:29 ff.: Repeatedly calling.
10:35: PS over the nest rim close to the cam - egg roll.
10:42: He is calling - and there is an answering call, should be 'Smiley'.
10:44: 'Smiley' arrives with a bundle of hay. Incubation change.
Thank you IceAge!
