19:51 The cam is back
20:11 Tiiu is taking a nap
20:28 Male lands with a dry twig, a short talk and Tiiu flies away, after some seconds male followed her
20:34 Tiiu is back and covers the egg
IceAge! THIS is exactly what I would like to know. We all know that cainism is obligatory in LSEs, but not so in GSEs. What about the hybrid situation: which behaviour prevails? Mother's or Father's?
Cainism also exists in other birds of prey.
Clanga pomarina and Clanga clanga are so closely related that they can produce offspring. Since kainism occurs in both species, it is likely that *Abel* will not survive.
We will see. I would be happy if both chicks fledged, but I have my doubts.

I don't know much about the years of Tönn & Tiiu. Was there cainism? As far as I know, with the greater spotted eagles it is sometimes like this, sometimes like that...
Ouffff, a second egg! It will be interesting (and maybe challenging ....) to see how things will develop, in case that both eggs will carry eaglets and will hatch.
Second egg laid on 28. April - cam went online on 26. April, so the first egg is probably laid only few hours before the cam went online.
