April 24th

Good morning! :hi:

Here, too, the pair come to the nest together.
09:21 The female can be heard a little earlier in the tree.
The male flies to the nest with a frog in his beak, the female jumps into the nest and takes the frog.

April 25th

:hi:

A spruce branch was brought.
The male?

After mating, I assumed we had a permanent couple here. However, other activities are rather sparse.
Is it possible that the birds also have affairs/matings and romances without intentions from time to time? :whistling:

Also for the rest of the day no more signs.

However, the cuckoo calls tirelessly.

April 26th

:hi:

09:34 The female comes into the nest very euphoric.
Shortly thereafter, her partner also appears...jumping over the side branch (which seems to be used with pleasure) bringing food for his female.

The female eats, the male jumps onto an upper branch.
Image

This time the food appeared to be a bird.
Image

09:35 The male leaves the nest tree.
Image

'38 now the female on a nearby tree. She keeps calling.
'39 The male flies to her ... no mating I think.

15:48 The male carries food to the nest. His female can already be heard.
Image

She takes the food greedily.
Image

The male passes ...or. gets rid of the prey :D and leaves the nest.
The female begins to pluck ...again a bird. But bigger than the one in the morning.
In between, she calls energetically and now carries the food out of the nest in her beak. Fly away, call.

April 27th

:hi:

09:45 The female crashes into the nest. :slap: :D
Image

She calls loudly and urgently and the male doesn't keep her waiting long.
He comes into the nest just as quickly and is awaited overwhelmingly.

Well, what's there... :innocent:

The male jumps onto the upper branch, the female flies back into the nearby tree.

The male leaves the tree, the female calls after her and also flies back into the forest.

May 5th

No pair seems to be found here or it prefers another nest.

It became apparent that no nest work was taking place.
Only occasional loot deliveries. I can't tell if the females were passing guests or did we always see the same female?

On May 1st, a lonely visit...

Another visit on May 10th.

The calls of a single can be heard more often, but this nest also remains empty this season.
Too bad, a really nice nest with colorful birdsong and a tireless cuckoo.

Ps: This year swallows and cuckoos came back very late - here in northern Germany.
Not just late, even less.

Nothing was seen here for a long time. Although the background noise here is very nice.

There were no nesting operations and no more visits from eagles. No one who left a branch or twig to say goodbye...
But with luck one or two forest visitors could still be seen. :innocent:

Lesser Spotted Eagle ~ 2024

There will be another transmission.
I'm really very happy about it! It's exactly the camera I was hoping for so much.
Thanks @ LVM

Image

Such a wonderful place...full of voices yet quiet enchantment.

The transmission is still running with gaps, but it will certainly soon become more stable. :innocent:

The stream is still running very irregularly. But there is still time.
Which nest will the couple use this year... .

March 22nd

The nest looks untouched.
However, the acoustics here are simply fantastic!

Meditation for a few minutes... unfortunately there is no more.
It probably needs more sun for more transmission.

April 11th

The stream is still on shaky ground. In some Latvian Letter Spotted Eagle nests there were branches moving that we could barely observe. Suddenly they were lying and we didn't see who was laying them. It is a pity ...

Today one showed up here in the nest.
Another one wasn't far, we could hear.

So beautiful ... :innocent:
