Interesting here:
11:40:46 Pērle raises her chest as if she wanted to make space underneath herself. A cushion of air.
Only very slowly does it lower again.

Image

It stays like that for a while until it slowly lowers back down.

13:20 Pērle lies restlessly, goes up slightly twice.

Another short rain shower...and see something interesting again.

13:28 Rio brings Bark and the crows with him.
Image

He doesn't stay long and quickly leaves the nest.
Back to the crows who are already lurking.

18:02 and again 18:03 Rio calls

Pērle is busy right now and I'm sure at least one egg is talking. If not two. It sounds powerful...for a moment I thought it might even be chicks.
Good to hear at 18:02. I wear headphones now.
Image

Pērle leaves the nest and Rio arrives a minute later.
He's shy.
Something is definitely different. But his dance ends successfully in the nest bowl.
Image

18:07 Rio does what Pērle did in the afternoon - he lifts himself.
viewtopic.php?p=925190#p925190
He looks irritated... *knock knock *beep?
Image

Raise a wing, look.
Raise the other wing, look.
Is Rio looking for his chicks?

He lies down again and soon Pērle is back.
Rio runs out in two steps and Pērle covers the nest bowl.
This time she doesn't loosen up. Pērle just lays down.... :innocent:

Pērle always rises abruptly.
21:38 From here there is little doubt - chick #1 has hatched. :bounce: :2thumbsup:

Pērle eats tough mass.
21:46 She gnaws and it sounds like eggshell.

...it's eggshell.
Pērle tries to get rid of them on the edge of the nest. The bowl keeps rolling down.

May 1st

Hatching into May....

05:03 Rio calls and Pērle briefly leaves the nest.
Image

And if you were sure that one egg had hatched, there were two.
That's why it sounded so powerful.

The bobbleheads are pretty much on par. Dry and already good at balancing the head.
I believe both of them hatched yesterday.

05:27 Pērle climbs onto the edge of the nest for a few moments.
There is slight protest in the nest bowl.

05:57 And Pērle goes up again.
Short ...
She lays some nest material and covers the nest bowl.

06:06 Pērle leaves the nest.
During their brief absence, the bobbleheads continue to get to know each other. There are the first blurry beak contacts.
Image

Somehow Pērle managed to get the food carcass from A to B nest without being dissed by the crows. The nagging only comes when Pērle is already in the nest.

Rio is now outside doing his best to disperse the crows while Pērle stuffs the beaks from the chicks.
Image

We don't have to worry about food distribution.
It is noticeable that Pērle is a professional.
And even if a chick seems to get fewer bites, it evens out with each feeding. As long as the chicks are okay.

06:42 Pērle pulls up the food carcass and it seemed like she wanted to offer some morsels.
But Pērle decided against it and covered the nest bowl again.

08:08 The third breakfast for the chicks.

Pērle changes her position every now and then and carries the emaciated food carcass.
Pērle also takes a bite at the end.

15:17 Pērle looks for a place on the edge of the nest to shake her feathers and stretch.
On the way back to the nest bowl, one of the chicks will probably met from Pērles claw. A short squeak and the little bobblehead goes diving.

But it resurfaces.

20:10 Rio starts calling - Pērle answers.
Rio continues calling until Pērle leaves the nest.

20:14 *out
20:15 back with food

This time the crows were on the lookout.
Rio defends again.

21:10 Pērle pulls up the rest of the food carcass and leaves the nest with it.
Image
...Gurgles from the crows...Warning cries from Pērle

The cute bobbleheads react to their mother's voice. They raise their heads and are expectant.
They'll learn that it's better to lay flat when in danger. :whistling:

Nest 1

Well, a bit macabre...
Although I often had the impression that goshawks do not hunt in the breeding area. The pigeon should not dare to try.

Picks and calls 3:31 to 3:50 p.m
