Thanks for the information Sova
All big birds of prey sometimes seem a bit scary with their bloody meals (although I understand that it is the law of nature), but the chicks are still very cute.
For example, when I read about the monk vulture recently spotted in Finland, I dreamed that it tried to take my cat. Fortunately and for my pleasure , the cat was quick and managed to escape.
An article about the monk vulture in a Finnish language magazine:

Hellem, thanks for the info.
Liz
A bird flies back and forth for 12 years and somewhere an idiot thinks it is the center of the world and decides to wipe out a life just like that.
I feel obliged to capture Karin's final location in pictures.
Oh Karin, I'm so sorry.....

There is a real Individualist and Separatist among the LSEs at this autumn migration - Iivar
Not only that he is nesting with a GSE female instead a LSE female, he also has very own ideas about how to migrate to southern wintering grounds
This is what is written on the birdmap about Iivar:
A Lesser Spotted Eagle male (Iigar) nesting with a Greater Spotted Eagle female (Iiga). They both are tracked within the project GSELIFEAboveBorders. 2024 was a successful year for them, one (hybrid) juvenile was raised. The chick was already able to fly when we found the nest, so it remained unringed.
Iigar started the 2024 autumn migration at noon on September 15. His migration path is usual up to Moldova, then Iigar turned to the east and crossed the most active section of the front of Ukrainean war and reached southern Russia on September 29. He seems to be migrating to Africa around the Black Sea?
We will see what he is going to do ......

With last data from 7. October we can see that meanwhile our 'Separatist', LSE Iivar, circumnavigatet the eastern part of the Black Sea and is crossing Türkiye now
It looks he would join the 'usual flying route' at the Gulf of Iskenderun
He made a lot of additional kilometers by chosing this eastern route
Well, he may have his reasons .....

Hellem and all
Yes, the 'separatist' Iigar has given up this status and is now on the 'usual' route to the wintering grounds, like other LSEs
Iigar´s whole route until now (data from 10.10.)
As expected, he entered the 'usual' route east of the Gulf of Iskenderun in Türkiye
Now we see him not far from Beirut (Lebanon), the whole wide area there is dangerous, be careful and stay safe, Iigar!
I am already curious now, which route he will take home in spring!
