go ahead Liz and mess as much as you like!

i'm trying to sort out my videos from Sep 30th. they are more than a month old and they are still missing from the topic! :rotf:
that was a difficult day. there was a lot of activity, i had a bad connection and some of my files are "jinxed" so that i can't trim them in my usual method. what a nightmare. :slap:

9! have i missed so much??
oh, you meant that you were going to add pictures. al right! thank you!

someone has been walking on the forest floor. also some sticks and/or dry leaves have rustled in the wind on the nest all the day. that has not been the Lodger's sound.

17:39 a mallard called at the lake.

feeding time...

ame, I think it was the tree. I think a wind gust made the tree to creak :puzzled:
It sounds strange, but nor for me. I hear it very often here. We have incredible storms here.

good morning Liz and all!

7:18:28 an eagle flew by.
then Zorro flew in and lay down on the nest.
then he got up and took the turf ball. he is like a cat with it. or a dog. he took the ball up in his beak and shook his head and the ball.

the swinging stick is still on the front edge.

These clumps of earth with grass including roots are created when wild boars dig up the earth. It could be that the thing that Milda brought was dig up by a wild boar.

Zorro doesn't know what to do with it. He often moves it from one side to the other. right now he does it again

7:22 he settles down again

7:23 someone is walking on the ground
7:24 a crow is calling

7:23 footsteps? yes, someone was walking under the nest. :D
a crow is calling far... more than one crow. they flew around.
Liz saw one crow in top left corner.
7:28:59 another crow flew in top right corner.
7:27:34 Liz heard voices. i think that there was a tawny owl female and also a male tawny owl called. that was the other voice.

7:25:32 a crow is flying in the left upper corner (with more contrast in the image you can see it better)
Image

7:27:34 pygmy owl and or tawny owl call? or it was the groaning of the tree... :slap: EDIT: first a tawny owl call, then a pygmy owl call

7:31 he's still sitting in his nest. that can take... I suspect that this frequent sitting in the nest (Milda & Zorro) is due to the fact that there was no breeding last year and this year. We haven't seen it to this extent in recent years?
Image

7:34:30 he is moving a short branch

7:35 Zorro got up and began to work again. he got up... and he took the turf ball again.
7:36 he flew out.

i can't explain this activity in the autumn in any way. Milda and Zorro simply seem to do it so this autumn. Zorro likes to work and sit on the nest already now. i suppose that his activity has also made Milda active. every year there has been some activity.

i noticed when i counted the sticks that even Milda and Raimis worked differently in different years. with the other Milda's mates every year was different from all others.
i hope that this time Milda will be lucky with Zorro. she seems to like him.

7:34 again.
Image

7:35 he stands up and works with that turf ball
Image

7:36 is looking around
he went to the right and flew away

ame, you observe much more intensively and precisely and, above all, for longer than I do. I think your explanation is more correct. Of course, all eagles (birds) are individual in their behavior.

8:09:30 the swinging stick slipped. soon it will drop altogether.
8:14 the stick slipped a little more. there is a short stump like a "nose" on the left side and the stick is hanging on it from one other stick on the left. the right side of the slipping stick, its "back", is leaning on another stick.

maybe it's not going to drop very easily after all.
(but i doubt if it will see Christmas on the nest. :whistling: )

btw: the turf ball is at 6 o'clock now.

14:32 both eagles wrote Andra and Digna125 in the YT chat.
thank you!

14:31:53 the eagles flew far and high in sky from the left in the left top corner.
Image

14:32:27 Zorro landed on the top branch. he jumped to the nest. Milda landed on the nest right after that.
14:33 Zorro jumped to the left branch and then to the outer left branch. he went too fat left and became invisible.
14:35:56 he stepped closer to the trunk and became visible again.

14:37 Milda went upstairs and Zorro jumped to the nest.
then Zorro jumped to the right branch and Milda took off. she flew back to the left where they came from.
14:38 Zorro flew after her.

btw: the temperature is back on the data line.
it was added at 11:23. 8-)
