Sad news:
Lucina was found dead on October 31st.
She had no obvious injuries. Investigations will provide more certainty about the circumstances of her death.

I'm so sorry.
It is a shocking and incredibly sad setback for the development of these eagles. Lucina was a strong female.

Internal bleeding is a sign of poison, some hunters put poison in baits to get rid of all "competitors", or it could be rat poison.
Lead poisoning on the other hand is a slow torture process with disorientation, motoric, not able to get food and finally crawling in under a bush to give up
