Marfo has made a count-up timer for this egg.
Good thinking, Marfo. I will put it on page 1 as well as here.

The starlings were on the nest tree, at least that was how it sounded.

The bird tried to keep incognito, but you declassified it.

Thank you! I've seen it before. There's a different time (16:21) and there could have been another bird.

Really? I didn't notice the time on this photo but I saw the bird live and thought it was a starling as well. They are there all the time and every year. And they fly like that.

Sonchik, you're welcome. :D
I recognize them by their voices. At the moment they are everywhere, even on my balcony. They are good voice imitators. They can sing like a cell phone rings. :rotf: That's crazy! The Zilpzalp (Phylloscopidae) is also back and I saw the first wagtail on Saturday.

March 30

A quiet morning, no wind, starlings are chattering.
8:34 Virsis brings a dry branch. Spilve talks softly to him. Virsis takes over from Spilve. He doesn't turn the egg.

17:20 Spilve sees something that attracts het attention. She stands up and starts to call. An intruder flies over the nest and away to the right. Spilve calls loud.
17:24 Excitement over, Spilve covers the egg again.

17:52 Spilve keeps calling. She looks up in several directions. The intruder again?
Spilve stands up and keeps calling while she turns the egg and changes position.
After a few minutes she stops calling.

I hope they sleep at night. I wouldn't want to hear a simulated alarm clock at 3:00.

When should there be a second egg? If it happens, of course.

Hello to all! :hi:

6:08 Spilve rotates the egg. She stares at him for a long time, loosens the straw beneath him. Sits down to incubate.

Image

6: 40-6: 41 Spilve rises again, examines the egg, turns it, loosens the straw, sits down to incubate.
6:58 Spilve is preening. The sun beautifully illuminates her - she really is the Golden Eagle! Around the starling flies (?).

Image

6:59 Virsis's voice is heard nearby.
7:04 Spilve gets up, is any branch clinging to her feathers, or is her paws just numb? She turns the egg, incubates again.

7:46 Spilve changes position, turns the egg, loosens the straw, sits down again.
8:11 Spilve gets up, carefully walks away from the egg, kneads stiff legs (?).

Image

8:13 Spilve jumps on a branch nearby, and Virsis jumps from a branch into a nest. Spilve gives him instructions and flies away, and Virsis loosens the straw under the egg and sits down to incubate.

8:20 Virsis gets up, turns the egg, sits down again to incubate.
8: 43.5 Spilve arrived, looking at Virsis. He warmed up in the nest and reluctantly gives way to her. He jumps on a branch nearby.

8:45 Spilve sits down to incubate. It seems to me that her eyes have become brighter compared to last fall.
9.19 In the distance, the voice of Virsis is heard. Spilve answers him quietly.

Yes, I noticed that too. In a while it will be more difficult to distinguish them quickly.

The eggs are laid 3 – 4 days apart. So it could be today .

13.46 Virsis arrived with a large pine branch. Spilve got up and began to gnaw on the bones brought by Virsis on March 29 at 7.26 in the morning! At the same time, she said something very expressive to Virsis. He flew away. Hopefully Virsis will bring more substantial prey to the nest! :D

16:51 Spilve gets up and stretches her legs and claws. She flies off a minute later.

16:53 Virsis arrives and covers the egg. He didn't turn it.
He was probably nearby and took his chance to sit on the egg because Spilve didn't call him.
She is calling now and then in the distance.
