Results are in from this morning and it looks like we have a male and a female chick.
The male BLUE 1C2 is thought to be the older one at 1.5kgs with the female BLUE 1C1 being the younger one at 1.5kgs.
They both appear to be healthy and we are glad that our camera is (for now) without poo!

RSPB Video :
Hi folks, hope you're enjoying the super-sparkly view - we certainly are! Both chicks were ringed this morning - the older chick is male = 1C2 and the younger is female = 1C1. Both in good health 🙂

I am delighted to share the news with you that we have two girls!
LW6 - weight was 1760g with a wing of 300mm and LW5 weight was 1910g with a wing of 350mm.
Lewis reckons they are in fantastic condition and more than ready for their first flights.

LW5 - chick1, and LW6 - chick2.

Axel brought a fish back while Asha was briefly away from the nest, so 1C1 took the fish and started feeding herself for the very first time. They grow up so fast!

When Asha spots something she doesn't like the look of and lets out a warning chirp, both chicks instantly respond and lie flat in the nest.

An unforgettable moment the other day. Just as the team were closing up for the evening, these young pine martens were scampering around on the path in front of our visitor centre!
