Alutaguse Forest Webcam 2020 - 2022

Post by Felis silvestris »

After a break of several years, Natourest (http://natourest.ee) has put up a web camera at their new bear hide in the area of Sirtsi bog, which is a Nature Conservation Area in Alutaguse Forest, Estonia.
The camera is facing a stream meadow offering a wide view providing a good view of the movement of the animals. The camera is aligned straight south, so at noon the picture can be quite dark under bright sunlight. Movement of animals is expected primarily at sunrise and sunset, and lighting is at right angles during this time. At the moment the sound is poor due to technical problems, but work is underway and there is hope for better sound soon.

French TV had a story about the bear hide: Brown Bear Hide

Besides brown bears we can hope to see raccoon dogs, red fox, elk and roe deer coming to hunt or feed on the meadow. Woodpeckers, red squirrels, nuthatches, crested- and willow Tits and jays visit the feeders. Ural owl occasionally come here to hunt for mice and sometimes also goshawks, sparrowhawks, golden eagles, White-tailed Eagles and buzzards come to look for prey. Rare visitors to the scenery may include wolf, lynx, eurasian otter, mink and wild boar.

The link to the camera stream is provides by Natourest's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1QcRu ... sJf7iymmAA
Here the link address for the current stream, which may change from time to time, can be found.

Good evening everybody :hi:

For me, when I start the cam, it shows 12:15 AM, it runs for a few seconds, and stops.

If I reload, it begins all over.

Anyone else has this issue?

Happy Camming!
