Liz, thank you for the reports! :2thumbsup:

(btw: i only saw the little spruce twigs. i don't know if they were real or yours.
edit: i think he took new cord and a twig which looked artificial and attached it on the camera.)

pictures starting with a red squirrel.
or Father Christmas. :whistling:

the lens of the camera looks so bad that it is a small miracle that we saw anything recently. - the picture is too high, but i wanted to keep the hands of Janis here to give size scale.

good morning!

8:00 - 8:16 a lonely pygmy owl called many times, or maybe two owls called in turns with long intervals.
8:16:55 another owl called at last and the first owl replier right after that.

edit: the first owl was very far and the second was closer. he called twice.

more light is coming... the scenery looks clear although it's still not light yet and there's fog, but the fog looks clearer, too.
i think that the camera looks slightly more to the left than earlier. the tele tower is out of our view now. and the vertical is near the trunk so that the top branch is horizontal. the right side is more tilted to the right than earlier.
Image

the clarity almost aches the eyes. :whistling:

good evening!

we have a brand new camera and no living creature was kind enough to show themselves in front of it the whole day! :rotf:
bird's voices were heard though, the normal choir: pygmy owls, jays, woodpeckers, tits, nuthatches, crows plus bullfinches, but no-one in sight.

good evening!

today there was even less to hear, not to mention to see.
17:02 a tawny owl female called in the forest.

MĀRIS has posted a picture of the solar panels.
Image
Tagad Jānis plāno kad varētu viņus atbrīvot no ledus skavām.
the text GT'd:
"This time I was not talking about the socket, but about supplying electricity for live transmission. When Jānis Ķuzis left, the amount of water in the brain was a bit surprised. The marmots had made a good effort to raise the level by at least half a meter, so all the solar panels were frozen in ice.
Now John is planning when to free them from the ice clamps."

the socket means the nest as usual but then GT was really making jokes. the sentence with "water in the brain etc." must mean that the amount of water in the meadow was surprising.
"water in the brain"... :rotf:
"Murmuļi" was translated as marmots, and should be beavers. marmots are living on dry land. i wouldn't be very much surprised if they were afraid of water. 8-)
spring will free the solar panels from the ice. they worked partly under liquid water and they seem to work in ice as well. i'd wait till warmer weather and wait for the sun to do the job. :whistling:

December 15

Good Morning :hi:

ame and Maris, thank you :2thumbsup:

"water in the brain " :rotf: :rotf:

Jānis Ķuzis was gone, then a little surprised by the amount of water in the beaver.
bebrainē =Biber= beaver
Murmuļi :puzzled: That’s something special. In Germany we also have words with multiple meanings.
