Nest is located in South Estonia, Võrumaa.
A military base is close, so it is not unusal to hear motor sounds from trucks and other vehicles, sometimes even shots.

A fish farm, as well as a river, is not far, so good hunting conditions for Ospreys.

Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) reach body heights of 50-66 cm, and wingspans of 1,27 - 1,74 m. Females are bigger than males.

- Winglength ♂ 448 bis 495 mm ♀ 470 bis 518 mm
- Weight ♂ 1,12 bis 1,74 kg ♀ 1,21 bis 2,05 kg

Usually two or three eggs are laid and incubated 36-41 days.
Young Ospreys fledge after 50-54 days.

Ready - set - GO !!!!

Hello Osprey fans :hi:

Welcome to a new season and who knows which surprises it will show us - happy and sad at the same time?
Only waiting and observing will tell us ....

Camera is already online since 30. March, the current weather in Estonia is not the best and maybe we still have to wait a while until the first osprey shows up on the nest

At least no rain spots on the lense at the moment, all what was on it before has dryed

Image

Unfortunately the timestamp is so tiny and there is no way to make it bigger, but we will do our best to add the correct time to our observations

I wish you all an interesting and happy season here

Hello, dear friends! Thank you for getting the live stream started. On April 3, at 8:07, a Song Thrush flew into the nest. For 15 minutes, he sang sweetly.

🐣 Happy Easter, everyone 🐣 Saying hello here while taking a break from staring at the empty Loch Arkaig nest waiting for Louis & Aila to return. Wishing Marko & Miina a successful season this year - fingers crossed for their nest, may the hungry ones keep away...
