Hello!
Sorry for the off-topic entry. I became interested in the subject.
I read about the word toone- in our etymological dictionary:
← Old German *dawīni
Old Icelandic - dán (death)
Swedish - dån
Votic - tooni
Finnish - tuoni
Karelian - tuoni
Sami - duotna
It is thought that this may be an even earlier, pre-German loan to ← *dhow-(ey)e-ni.

I would suggest also these gender-free names (to have more to choose from, when using adjectives):

Tore (splended, nice) - this stork is really splended 8-)
Uljas (daring, brave) - yes, s/he is!

But I can´t find the name for our P-stork...
Peen (fine, elegant...) ?

:puzzled:

I am for names that are suitable for both men and women, they should be pronounced and written down easily. I like:

U - Udu (fog) - the most gentle, cares about others, likes to sleep....
P - Piibar (playing the muses.the instrument), his voice flows like a stream.
T - Tuul (wind), catches up with the older chicks in everything, although he was born 2 days later.

Hello! I have a desire to quote myself 8-)

Observing his/her (716P) behavior, s/he cannot be said to be Peen = sensitive or fine or elegant (thinking of the strange behavior in the last days when s/he suddenly harassed his/her little sibling 716T).

Pikne (or lightning/thunder) would fit better!

So I prefer these names:
Pikne
Tuul
Udu

Pikne (lightning/thunder) also reminds us that we were without a transmission for a long time...

:hi: Heloise,

i completely agree

and would support your preferred names, especially "Pikne" 8-)

P is a very lively young stork who challenges life, but also like a vain rooster or peacock who wants to be admired and seeks his self-affirmation by teasing the sweet little darling T so often.
(like yesterday morning around 9:00; i made some screenshots, unfortunately i had no more time to post them)

U is a magnificent storklet. ❤️
He/she reminds me of his/her father. Calm, friendly, confident, strong… No caprices. He/she doesn't find it necessary to put himself in the limelight.
:hi: Anne,

also here i go completely conform.

U rests in itself, exudes the same strength and silence as a thick fog that lies heavily over the land and balances all the hectic pace. So, "Udu" (fog) apts very well.

***

At T -like the wind "Tuul"- everything is still in play for me, from a pleasant light, tender breeze to individual, strong gusts.
isn't s/he a sweet little darling ? i think s/he will have the same most beautiful eyes like Karl II:

there is already something surprisingly 'wise' in his/her eyes: https://up.picr.de/41694579zc.jpg

I like these names with characteristics of the storklets that we are observing since they hatched.

I like the idea to give them geographical names from the area of Karula NP and found some names:

U - Ujuste (brook), Urvaste (village)

P - Punsa (brook and village), Pedeli (river), Peetri (river), Peebu (village)

T - Tollari (lake), Taheva (village)

What is your opinion?
great!

Hello balistar, thank you for your nice and a very thorough comment

You can describe it so well! And even though you haven't had the opportunity to post very much, you know our little black storks very well!

Hello Everybody!
Big thank you for your suggestions!
Tomorrow I will lock this topic and start the poll. Again, not easy. I have to choose only 5 names for each storklet.
