Karl is in Estonia already and the map doesn't show his location. He is the winner this year. :loveshower:

Yes, so good to know, our beloved Karl II is home again  :headroll: :loveshower:
I hope to see him very soon! There is probably a technical problem with the camera, I think. I hope that Urmas is fine.

Hello Abigyl! :hi:
I don't quite understand what you mean... :puzzled:
Where did you see or hear that?

As far as I know, Karl II reached his nest yesterday, April 8th, shortly after noon.
And from Eedi we have (currently) no new birdmap update since April 7 in the evening. He was in Belarus at that moment.

Do you mean the loop Karl II flew over Ukraine? He then briefly returned to his previous location in Moldova for some unknown reason. Maybe bad weather, maybe some kind of disturbance…

And in Turkey, it looked as if Eedi was flying from Adana to Ankara and back. But that was simply an error in the received data.

Karl's location is no longer shown on the birdmap, 'cause he reached his nest.

This morning, for few hours they showed a change in direction, to the south.
I am a client of Birdmap for more than 10 years and know it very well. If you say they are home, i'm glad and hope it was a mistake.

All 4 adult Black storks sent new birdmap data.

Eedi is still in his previous area in Belarus.
Timmu and Nurme are in Ukraine.

More information as soon as I have time. 8-)

Timmu
Previous data:
07.04.2022; Distance: 5348 km (+344 km in 3 days); Timmu sent data on the Svicha River, not far from the Forelʹne Hospodarstvo (a small trout farm), in the village of Myslivka, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine
New data
09.04.2022; Distance: 5608 km (+260 km in 2 days); Timmu sent data in a forest a bit west of the village of Mizhlissya. He is east of the city Volodymyr, Volyn Oblast, in Ukraine

Volodymyr is a small city located in Volyn Oblast, in north-western Ukraine. It is the administrative centre of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Raion and the center of Volodymyr hromada. The city is the historic centre of the region of Volhynia and the historic capital of the Principality of Volhynia. The city is one of the oldest towns in Ukraine and historical Ruthenia (or Rus).

Image

Timmu flew over Lviv
On April 8 in the evening he reached the village Polyany (Zolochiv Raion, Lviv Oblast), northwest of Lviv. He spent the night in a forest near the Mlynivka River
Image

On April 9 in the evening he reached the village of Mizhlissya. He spent the night in a forest a little west of the village.

Nurme
Previous data
07.04.2022; Distance: 5247 km (+480 km in 1 day); Nurme sent data on the Suceava River, west of the village of Roșcani, Suceava County, Romania
New data
09.04.2022; Distance: 5546 km (+299 km in 2 days); Nurme sent data northeast of Yurivka, and northwest of Kutyshche, two villages in the Zhytomyr Oblast in Ukraine.
Karl II was in the same area (Chernecha park) on April 1st! :D

Take care, Nurme!

Image

Image

Nurme searched for food in a ditch/canal, and then went to sleep in a tree at the edge of a forest, near a field. That seems to be their favourite environment for the night.

Hurray, Timmu is in Belarus! :D

Timmu
Previous data:
09.04.2022; Distance: 5608 km (+260 km in 2 days); Timmu sent data in a forest a bit west of the village of Mizhlissya. He is east of the city Volodymyr, Volyn Oblast, in Ukraine

Image

Timmu is northeast of "Biologicheskiy Zakaznik Mikhaylinsko-Berozovskiy", a nature reserve. (GT: Biological (botanical) Reserve Mikhailinsko-Berezovsky)

In fact he is currently at the northern edge of a large military complex (the area shaded in red). He is currently right south of “Военный городок Лососин войсковая часть 39212” a military facility of Brest Oblast (Military camp Lasasin). There’s a lake, the Verchitskoye Reservoir/lake, and also a spring (Верчицкое водохранилище)

Timmu's curent area, the Verchitskoye Reservoir (I'm not sure GT gave a correct translation of the name...)

April 14th

Hello!

There has been a birdmap update.

Timmu arrived in Estonia yesterday, April 13

Nurme was yesterday in Belarus, southwest of Lida, not very far from the Lithuanian border.

Eedi is currently in Lithuania, north of the city of Vilnius.
He’s not travelling very fast this year.
