Update Cilla Kinross:
NEWS 2 December 2021.
Despite daily searches, there has been no sign of Yurruga since he was spotted on a roof near the tower in a thunderstorm on Thursday 25 November. Indications of his presence due to recent prey transfer appear to be false alarms. Several calls have been hears, but none have been verified.
It's of concern, not just because by now I would expect him to be using and flying around the roost trees, but due to the behaviour of the adults, long pair-bonding sessions being rare so soon after fledging. In addition, the adults are not seriously 'buzzed' me during my walks, which they would have done if a juvenile was close. I have a feeling that we may have lost this chap.
That sounds not good.

A beauty:
Lady Di
What for a season: Only one chick hatched from three eggs (most likely to thick eggshell, one was non viable).
Later Diamond was hurts at the right foot and wing (maybe by hunting prey).
And then beloved Yurruga is missed since 22.November...it makes my bird heart very sad.

5.December
5:28 Bonding between Xavier and Diamond, Di was there during night.
Xavier dancing around Di, it is always nice to see.
update from Cilla Kinross:
NEWS 5 December 2021.
I am scaling back daily searches for Yurruga. Despite daily searches, there has been no sign of Yurruga since he was seen on a nearby roof in a thunderstorm on 25 November.
By now he should be flying around the campus farm. The adult behaviour (frequent pair-bonding, lack of warning calls to me) also suggests that he has died. The most likely scenario is that he hit a tree or other obstacle while trying to fly in poor weather. Hunting would have been difficult for the adults in that weather as well, so he may have been in poor condition.
Poor little Yurruga, you had no luck with your fledge time. The conditions were very bad...fly free forever.
Thank you for the funny and nice moments in your very short life, I've enjoyed it.

That pic is so touching, I've tears in my eyes. TY, Amanda.
I miss Yurruga.
Last season it was a pleasure to watch Izzi, also an amazing little guy with an energetic voice.
